 the oregon coast
beats the breath out of you
grey heavy pelting water,

it is a battle against nature
making it to the shore and back to the car,
you've won with your life

we
verge on hysteria as words are ripped from our gasping mouths,
we stumble like travelers
laugh like maniacs

and
minutes of this bliss is enough to last months,
but i had more fun on a cold afternoon than i have in a long time.
and i loved you even more, watching you trudge up the dunes,
watching your face laugh, the backs of your legs turn red,
you clutching the bottle to your chest, running back to the car,
i loved you even more
