[CAUMC] John [1/4] - "John versus the Synoptic Gospels" [2006-01-24]
CAUMC Wednesday night Bible study is starting a new topic -- a study of the Gospel of John. So of course I had to check it out. Andrew's leading it, and his inexperience [inexperience in leading something like this -- not to be confused with a lack of knowledge about the topic] shows -- but in a way that makes me sympathetic rather than annoyed.
Tonight started with some information about the development of the four canonical gospels and I thought of of the Congo's Who Do You Say I Am? series.
Then on Ash Wednesday they'll start a new Lenten study (topic TBA). ::has fond memories of First Churches/Edwards:: (Oh, and that reminds me, I've really gotta pick a church to go to this Sunday -- assuming of course I can drag myself out of bed.)
I really am gonna have to gym it up in the a.m., huh? 'Cause Monday nights I'll have class, Wednesday and Thursdays CAUMC... that leaves me only Tuesdays and Fridays for gymming after work. (Plus weekends. [website with hours, for personal reference])

Afterward I did grocery shopping. CAUMC Game Night this Friday at my apartment, starting at 7:30 or 8.

I was chatting with Ranjan on the Red Line back to Davis after work, and I mentioned the commuter rail and he was asking about it 'cause he's never ridden it. I was momentarily boggled and then realized that of course if one lives in the city, one has no reason to ever ride the commuter rail. I mentioned Salem and the possibility of Worcester but couldn't think of anything else. Looking at the map, I would add Providence, Rockport/Gloucester, and Foxboro. But yeah, Outbound commuter rail service is basically people who live/work in the 'burbs, and plenty of people move into the city as adults from elsewheres, so they wouldn't have grown up in the 'burbs of Boston.
(I was tempted to tag this "adventures in public transportation" but decided "mbta" was more accurate.)
