Oh I hope I didn't come off as being judgmental about it or anything, 'cause that's not how I meant it. I do very much understand feeling not able to write one or the other (m/m or f/f) and certainly there can be a point at which the numbers are just way slanted so it's not fair to put yourself in a position where the odds are so high that you won't be able to participate like you want to.

I had intended it more as a ponderment of how much people gut level react against writing one or the other (m/m or f/f) and don't even think about the fact that even within their chosen slashtype there might well be plenty of requests they would have difficulty fulfilling. The idea of writing off any particular kind of writing as impossible (especially since this kind of stuff is often couched in stuff like "ew, girlparts") certainly makes me uncomfortable, but I'm also aware that there are lots of complex and valid reasons that go into people's thoughts and actions on this.

Which is a long way of saying: I have a kneejerk reaction around this but validate you personally.

Since I was very aware of how I could have sounded (and because I realized I hadn't clarified/qualified in the original entry) I jumped to make sure my intention was clear in case I had offended. You sounded like you were fairly explaining/defending your particular position, I'm just highly sensitized (from experience) to how things can be misinterpreted, so I tend to clarify/qualify like whoa.
