In continuing comments on my I will now officially stop wincing at people saying "Merry Christmas" (until Advent 2013). fb postKeith: Happy Lent!

In other news, I am currently in a period of mixed feelings about Christmas (carols), identifying as a Christian (for me personally -- I'm not saying it's a bad self-identity for anyone else), etc., but: "Now that the mall has stopped playing them, the church can start singing them."

I slept in this morning but not as much as I'd expected to given how late I was up last night (Housemate was digging through the recording of the Project for Awesome livestream for the "Hank's face" portion, and I got sucked in).

I actually had energy/motivation to go out and deal with shopping stuff. My hair was still damp, so I walked to Davis rather than biking (which also enabled me to return my library book) 'cause a vanity, I has it.

I went to Intimacy and got bra stuff sorted easily.

There's a Lucky Jeans nearby, so I tried that out and the saleswoman was really helpful -- oh, fancy places where they will bring you lots of stuff to your fitting room -- and I got lots of practice saying, "This pair doesn't work for me because of X." I ended up not getting anything because the 2 pairs I liked still didn't fit quite right at the waist and for those prices I wanted to really LOVE the jeans -- but I did appreciate that she went out of her way to not be pushy, even as she kept being like, "Oh, and maybe you would like these jeans; and oh I see you also tried on a top, could I interest you in any others?"

I went to American Eagle and tried on a couple pairs which we didn't quite fit right. I stopped in at the Gap, but no salespeople came up to be helpful, and I was starting to fade, so I headed out and texted Batshua (who I knew was in the Davis Square area this afternoon), and we hung out.

And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road. (Matthew 2:12) [Because it's Childermas.]

Good things about today:
  • I can still re-pierce my ears myself (I go through extended periods of not wearing earrings).
  • plan to restring my Pride necklace (my backup necklace is longer than I would optimally prefer)
  • package arrived
  • "Worked okay so far?" by Anonymous Yuletide Author
I knew that there Calvin and Susie getting married as grown-ups was a Thing, but hadn't realized that their having a kid named Bacon was also a Thing.
  • I forgot to adjust my Doodle availability when the sound booth schedule came out, but someone can take my Feb. 17 greeter slot \o/
Things I did well today:
  • As mentioned above: returned a library book, clothes-shopped like a grownup, etc.
  • I dressed ~nicely, which I think helped me feel comfortable/confident in ~fancy stores.
  • sent some emails
Things I am looking forward to (doing [better]) tomorrow:
["anything that you're looking forward to, that means you're facing tomorrow with joy, not trepidation," as Ari says]
  • bff phonecall

shopping: clothes, fanfic: recs, the unrelenting war on advent, people: church: keith, joy sadhana
