Saturday night's party ended up being just me, Ari,
thelastgoodname, and
mayhap -- which actually worked out really well.
On the way to the airport on Saturday, I joked that I could say I was in costume as a seminarian. This ended up being a moot point (see above re: party attendance) but it is still a true story -- conversations back at the apartment after church on Sunday involved N. T. Wright's Matthew study guide/devotional, 2 Bibles (NRSV & The Inclusive Bible), 2 hymnals (ELCA & UMC); and discussion of: Pamela Greenberg's talk about the English translation of the Psalms for devotional usage she recently did, Robert Alter [who yeah, I think did do the
Five Books of Moses my mom has], learning Hebrew, and the Etz Hayim: Torah and Commentary.
Neither TLGN nor I came prepared with an agenda, so there was maybe not quite so much conversation over the course of the weekend as there could have been, but that was okay.
