I decided to attempt the manifesto challenge at
whedonland & attempt a picspam for the first time. I had about 10 ideas but I finally decided on doing my favorite underrated episodes. I tried to showcase episodes that aren't the most popular (plus I had to have an excuse from doing 30 episodes, lol). Spoilers behind the cut if you haven't seen seasons 1-6.
Witch (season 1, episode 3)
This was the episode that got me hooked on the show. It's funny, surprising, & hey, who doesn't love Buffy dancing around singing "Macho Man"?
Killed by Death (season 2, episode 18)
I loved seeing Buffy vulnerable in a non-slayer type way & the villain was pretty scary.
Dead Man's Party (season 3, episode 2)
Following Anne which was obviously all about Buffy, I thought this was a great follow up episode. I love that everybody didn't exactly welcome her back with loving arms (ok Giles did but whatever).
Something Blue (season 4, episode 9)
Season 4 had some great episodes but this is the one that I feel doesn't get enough love. It's hilarious & it foreshadows dark Willow. Obviously the fact that it has Spuffy going on in it doesn't hurt either even if it was a spell. ♥
Spiral (season 5, episode 20)
I LOVED season 5 & I feel this episode gets hardly any love. Again I am going with the funny reason (heck I should have done a picspam on funny moments at this rate) & I like how we see Buffy panic & fall completely apart at the end. Hurt Giles is kind of sexy & I really like how Xander & Spike kinda/sorta/not really bond a bit.
Afterlife (season 6, episode 3)
I am in the minority but season 6 was my favorite BtVS season. This episode was excellent following Bargaining. I found it more creepy than the previous episode (which you would think Buffy coming back from the dead would be more creepy but nope). I also like how it's a slower pace than the previous episode. The talk between Buffy & Spike at the end still makes me tear up & it's nearly been 9 years since it aired. Fantastic acting & writing.
Normal Again (season 6, episode 17)
My favorite episode of the series! Sarah Michelle Gellar is just amazing in this episode. I love how you weren't really sure what the heck was going on through the entire episode & how it's left open to interpretation.
