Kitchen Madness
My sister and brother and in law are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. All due to a broken sink. They could have just brought new pipes for the sink; but they are trying to sell their house - and they wanted the kitchen to be better. That means a whole new sink, new counter tops, and new floors.
I was here with my three year old nephew when they came and gutted out the kitchen. Man, was that a adventure in itself. Lucky we managed to get out of the house in the morning - and the noise level didn't keep my nephew from having a good nap. But, boy did it smell something awful afterwards. The entire kitchen, and the garage had to be plastic and taped off - due to the bio-chemical smells. Luckly nothing dangerous was in the air - the plastic came off within two days.
But, no one came to finish up the kitchen for a solid month. Well we did have a painter come by to try to match the wall paint (which sadly he didn't. So my sister changed the color). Plus he came back to stain the cabinets to match the new sink cabinets. (Boy did it smell afterwards).
Luckily today finally the men came by to put the floor back in. Yeah my sister's kitchen is starting to LOOK like a kitchen once more. Minues the sink and the counter tops, dish washer, refesiter (which is in the living room currently). But hopefully that next stuff will take place within the week. Hopefully they don't have to wait another month (like they had too from the time they gutted out the kitchen to when they got their floor back.)
I have been here for most of the heavy duty work. Two times I managed to get my nephew out of the house - but today I had his three month old cousin here, so that meant upstairs in the master bed room.
