Telling stories with words is also amazing. BTW. The first chapter of the boobie fic that you inspired (not the crack fic, yet my dear) should be posted over at FFN by tonight. OMG ... I thought I was writing a one shot here (pre-crack fic ... get get my thoughts in order to actually write the crack fic) - but as I kept writing - it turned it self into a muti-chapter story.
Read 'Fallen' - I forget what page number it is when Nicci comes to get Richard & does the maternity spell on Kahlan. But, oh my God, you will absoutly love Cara in this scene - the entire book. She's is so much more protective of Kahlan throughout the entire book.
Oh, and Kahlan's father is dead in the book series (he never comes back to life or as a spirit to visit Kahlan. Kahlan's mother's spirit only comes to Richard in 'Temple of the Wind' - sadly not Kahlan. I feel that Goodkind made some major mistakes in this area of Kahlan's storyline. Why should Richard get a visit from Kahlan's mother & not Kahlan herself. Hello!)
Cara truly wanted to kill Nicci for hurting Kahlan = but she knew she couldn't - otherwise she would be killing Kahlan also.
I loved Nicci midway through 'Fallen' (once you read it - you'll truly understand her character so much better).
Seriously you need to look up on online reading of "Wizard's First rule" - chapter 47 - two and half pages into the chapter is when Kahlan connects with the Con Dar power of hers.
It is legedary epic here. There is no way to describe how Goodkind truly got Kahlan into the Con Dar. ((The TV series DIDN'T do it it justice. They tried - I'll give it to them & Brigit did her very best - but I honestly don't believe NO actress is good enough to grasp what Goodkind did with his words.)
(If you get a copy of the paper back book - page 765).

Diligently saving my dimes to purchase the whole series now because it's that much of a need XD I'm even going to go so far as to buy it off the SOS thing -nod nod- so far I've just finished to where Darken Rahl came by the village on a dragon and Kahlan explained all about dragons (there was much squee'ing involved on my part due to my adoration of dragons). But I shall oogle that page.
That's why I liked the TV version for that part in particular. Kahlan got to see her mom :) It was so sweet. I felt a tear want to make a presence. But it refrained from showing -nod nod-
You will be happy to check the book out. Especially when you get to when Kahlan goes into Con Dar for the very first time. It is that powerful - you just need to savor it through reading the book.
Oh, fyi, after relooking at those pics I saw the one with Cara's hands on her hips. I can so picture her being like, "I'm sorry, excuse me, he did what?" Followed by a Kahlan explaining things (not winning at leaving things out because Cara so sees through these things) and then Cara bein' all "Ohhhhh Richarrrd... come here boy... come on... I have something for youuuuu... *fondles Agiels*"
Did you notice that I put THAT picture just after the one that Richard was watching Nicci hurt Kahlan (Truly it was him hurting Kahlan), and the one where I wrote Richard beating the crap out of Kahlan for choosing Cara rather then him.
I decided to find a angry Cara picture - the picture I found just fit all over the place.
"Cara, having proven her loyalty and sincere respect not only for Richard, but for Kahlan as well, has come to be considered not so much a friend as a member of the family. She carries great respect for Kahlan, who wears the Agiel of Denna, Richard's former Mord Sith mistress. She is the only Mord Sith at Richard and Kahlan's wedding, and unreservedly moves to Westland in Faith of the Fallen when Richard gives up hope. Cara is among the most affected by Richard's new rule, in that she has learned to truly love others and to be willing to openly show her affection - after a lot of trial and error by using Richard and Kahlan as practice. At the end of the last book in the series Confessor, Cara finally admits openly that she is in love with the D'Haran army's commanding officer General Benjamin Meiffert and becomes the first Mord Sith ever to get married. At her wedding, Cara wears white leather in commemoration of their fight, of hope and of new life, of the pride of being a Mord Sith, and out of respect for customs and a sense of equality to her new husband."
(We all know the true reason why Cara went to Westland was to protect Kahlan from Richard. She was just waiting for Richard to step out of line ... then she would help Kahlan escape Richard's clutches! Both of the women would return to the Midlands & inform Zedd of what Richard had become. Hence naming Cara the TRUE seeker of truth!)
Ah... everytime I think of Benjamin Meiffert I think of Eric Northman off Trueblood because he totally looks like a pure blooded D'Haran (ie a viking).
