Lavender, please.

Hermione felt just awful. Taking so much time away in a foolish attempt to collect herself, she realized, had really caused more harm than good. At least, she had gotten past the self-destructive mindset that everything was all her fault, and had moved on to being irate with Ron. But, that's not why she felt so terribly.

The last time she had seen Lavender she was in a similar emotional state and mission: see the world and forget about their romantic endeavours. They had decided to meet up in sunny California, to see the Pacific Ocean, meet the dumb-blondes of the American west coast, and (most importantly) find themselves in the middle of the beautiful wine country of Napa Valley.

Of course, on her months (yes, it most have been months!) long vacation, she had been keeping up with the world which she had quickly grown accustomed to as a young girl. The death of her classmates hung heavy on her heart, and the attack on Lavender! Hermione knew she should have come back to check on her dear friend, but she had been uncharacteristically selfish, in the worst of ways, for the first time in her life (or, so she thought at least).

Hermione nervously approached Lavender's door, feeling a great deal of anxiety about how she would be received. Holding her breath, she tapped on it a few times and braced for the worst.
