"We'll have all the time and space we need when we find a house. Fred, put that down."
Fred dropped the jumper he was holding into a box, and pulled open another drawer. "You need time and space from the minute you put the ring on her finger, git. You know I'm right. And there's no way I'm living here once you're married. She'll think she's my mother, and I'll have to eat green stuff every day! Not to mention watch the pair of you kiss. Or listen to you shag. I'd rather just live with my mother." He tossed another handful of stuff into the box, then shook out one of George's shirts. "Can I have this?"
"Hang on...what did you say?"
"Can I have this." He waved the t-shirt in question.
"No. About Hermione."
"That she'll think she's my mother?"
"No, after that."
"That I'll have to watch you kiss." Fred's nose wrinkled in distaste.
"No," George said, impatiently. "Before that."
"I'll have to eat green stuff every day?"
George grinned widely. "You said it!"
"Said what?"
"Green!"
"I said...oh hell, I did!" Fred grinned as well, then shook his head. "Still. Don't change the subject."
George sighed, and headed out into the kitchen, returning with two bottles of Butterbeer. "To 'green'," he said, lifting his bottle to Fred's, and they clinked them together, then drank.
"I'm still going to Mum's, you know."
OMFG I LOVE THIS PART. I would've been kinda disappointed if you didn't write Fred knowing the word green. so glad he did:)
Fred glanced over, then gave George a sideways smile. "Yeah. But you know I'll be around. Especially if I want to take a girl out on a date or something. I can't trust Mum or Dad to go with me."
George chuckled, then got to his feet to help his brother pack. "You help me paint the flat, and it's a deal."
Fred grinned, then held up the t-shirt again. "So, does that mean I can have this?"
