Okay, so I'm in my "Practical Criticism/Writing About Literature" class and we're reading "Battle Royal" by Ralph Ellison, which later became the first chapter of his novel Invisible Man (which I haven't read, but I know it's about experiencing racism in mid-20th-century America). So we're talking about the implications of being "invisible" and this girl brings up H. G. Wells's novel, The Invisible Man, and how invisibility leads to sociopathy, so I started explaining about Claude and his misanthropy, homelessness, thievery, etc., and I felt really weird do that in the middle of class. *facepalm*
Well, at least now I have a plot bunny for my next fic for
10_quotes.
