I walked across the stage on Saturday, and I now have a B.A. in English (Cum Laude)! Also certificates in Honors, Gender Studies, and Professional Writing. Part of me was worried not about the ceremony, but because I left my purse in the car and my dad had cracked the windows because his car has no air conditioning at the moment. But it was untouched when I got back, which was good.
Actually walking on stage is a bit of a blurry memory. I remember shaking three different people's hands and my name being announced but it all happened so fast. And official photographers took all the graduates' photos three times (before getting onstage, while shaking the chancellor's hand, and after walking offstage with the diploma folder).
Anyway, here are some non-professional photos of the day:
Such a flattering outfit.
Me with my younger siblings, Peter (left) and JoJo (Josephine, but no one calls her that).
With my father. My mother had to miss the graduation because the high school boys' volleyball team she coaches had to play in their Districts tournament (the first step on the way to State finals---they swept).
Me in a dress. It was actually quite comfortable.
All the Honors College students stand. This is the most decent shot of the ceremony we have. The back of my head is in the middle of the picture.
After the ceremony. It was a very bright day outside.
