and now for something completely frivolous...

Placing my iPod on random shuffle produces these first 15 songs (no editing for embarrassment):

1. Nada particular, Miguel Bosé and Juanes
2. Fragile, Sting
3. Everyday America, Sugarland
4. Amaze Me, Girlyman
5. Conversation 16, The National
6. SED, La Ley
7. Light of Some Kind, Ani DiFranco
8. Charlotte Mittnacht (The Fabulous Destiny of...), DeVotchKa
9. Jesus..., Eve 6
10. La fuerza del destino, Ana Torroja
11. Wicked Game, Chris Isaak
12. Days of the Week, Stone Temple Pilots
13. Move Any Mountain, The Shamen
14. Wednesday, Tori Amos
15. Already Gone, Sugarland

You know, the thing about mp3s is that you dump a whole mess of music on to your device and then listen to such a tiny portion of it. Of the songs above, only 1, 5, and 8 are anything I've listened to at all recently. Some, like Sugarland, I have because a friend shared it with me, but it's not my usual cup of tea.

According to the iTunes play count, here's my usual cuppa:

1. Somewhere Only We Know, Keane
2. This Is the Last Time, Keane
3. Enough To Go By (original release), Vienna Teng
4. Todo se transforma, Jorge Drexler
and Perfect Symmentry, Keane
6. I Will Possess Your Heart (radio edit), Death Cab for Cutie
7. Crystal Ball, Keane
and Stray Italian Greyhound, Vienna Teng
and Gravity, Vienna Teng
10. Bedshaped, Keane
11. Suerte, Shakira
12. Si tú no vuelves, Miguel Bosé and Shakira
and Te dejo Madrid, Shakira
and Augustine, Vienna Teng
15. Marta, Sebas, Guille, y los demás, Amaral
and Iowa (Traveling III), Dar Williams
and Se va, se va, se fue, Jorge Drexler

Which doesn't really surprise me. Keane is probably my favorite band; Vienna Teng, Jorge Drexler, Amaral, and Dar Williams all have albums on my "comfort albums" playlist, and Shakira just frigging rocks.
