why don't I write poetry anymore?
I used to.
Bad poetry, of course. But the whole point was to get through it to find the kernel of something, some story, that in better soil could grow.
I just took a quick look back through this journal; I used to write (tremendously) bad poetry, all for the sake of the exercise and that one line or two, way back in '02 and '03.
If you want (and are feeling sufficiently masochistic) you can read it. It's embarrassing in the way only juvenilia can be. It's all tagged "bpf" for Bad Poetry Fit.
