I've been offered the studio flat on 18th at Church Streets. It's the funky one near Dolores Park.
It's large enough for my needs, has hardwood floors, a newly redone bathroom, a fairly big kitchen (albeit electric and not new), storage and a washer/dryer downstairs, and pocket doors between the main room and the kitchen.
The main room has northern exposure, which isn't optimal, but should be fine. It's a floor up, so the light situation in general will be better than my current garden-level hobbit hole. Also, the kitchen and bathroom get southern light, so that'll help.
I'm a little worried about noise (the J church line runs right there), and crowds (any major event in Dolores Park), but honestly, I think that'll be fine. I'm just psyching myself out.
I mean, I'm excited about this, but at the same time, I'm still a little overwhelmed.
By that, I mean that I'm going OMGOMGOMG a lot, I'm feeling very much like aaaaack!, as in the title of this post.
Truth to tell, I want the other guys to offer, too, just so I have a choice. This place is cheaper, though, and it's a flat (sectioned off a house), rather than an apartment, and that's a plus for me.
Basically, I'm good. I've got a place of my own to which I can look forward. And I am!
