Its past time for people to stop telling girls that all guys want is sex. I remember getting this message over and over again when I was young - especially in my early 20's.
"Oh, he's only being nice because he just wants to get in your pants." When asked how they know that for sure "That's what all guys want". And this message came more often from men than from women.
Well congrats folks, because I'm starting to see the fallout of women believing that message. Not just in my personal circle either. I'm seeing it in the guys at work, and the stories of their friends.
Young women are becoming less dependent on love and romance - and I think that's fine. What's not fine is they're assuming the men are on the same page, and treating them like chew toys without even thinking that the guys in question might, possibly, actually care for them and have an emotional investment. So guess what. The message was a lie, and all the really nice guys that really are out there are getting their hearts broken.
I blame the “guys just want sex” cultural messaging. It’s got to end.
