So I worked today, day 3 of the job at Newk's. Dr. Newcomb was there this morning; that was kind of neat. Both of the bussers were out (broken foot/death in the family), so all the food runners bussed. And it was busy. Very very busy. I wound up just staying in the back at the bussing station knocking food off of dishes and sorting them for the dishwasher. It was kind of gross. One of the soups today was a lobster crab bisque that apparently didn't taste very good, because people kept leaving it without hardly eating any, so I got to dump it all in the trash. Yuck.

So the dilema: I was hired at Petra on my first day of work at Newk's. Petra is a fine dining Mediterranean restaurant that will be opening in the next week or maybe two here. At Newk's I'm making minimum wage. This week I worked 9 hours, next week I'm on the schedule for 18. I need to work 40. They said they would build it up to full time as I got more acclimated to the job (no telling how long that will be). I'm getting quite comfortable with the work and the people, but I'd love to get in on the ground floor at a nice restaurant, especially since I have zero experience waiting tables. I'm supposed to go to Petra Monday for the big meeting with all the staff. I guess then I'll have a better idea of which job I should keep. I need to know that I can work full-time at Petra and know if I'll be waitressing or doing something else (something else that pays minimum wage). I assume that I could at least make minimum wage with waitress tips.

I need to clean!!! My room and car are gross!!! And my body too, for that matter...

On that note, I'm getting in the shower!
