hi, my name is jessika rae- i found you through my friend ciara's journal. i hope it's okay that i added you. i just noticed you are from portland maine, and i am moving to pretty close to there in a month, and i don't really know anyone from there. xo.
Thanks for the add, although my location is kind of a lie - I do have my "home base" in P-land but for half the year I'm in college in NC (well, hopefully not anymore after this year, but yeah). Portland is a neat place, generally. There are certain things I dislike about it (the winter weather, the gentrification problem, the tiny size of the activist/punkrocker circles), but I think I'll end up coming back here when I wants to settle.
I think I'll probably be gone by the time you move here (I have to leave for college on August 19, I believe), but if you want to know anything about Portland, just ask. (and if you get the chance to visit before then, you should come and eat where I work - Little Lad's Restaurant, home of the $2.99 vegan buffet.)
Oh, and I forgotted to ask: when you say "pretty close", whereabouts do you mean? Also, how are you getting around? (Public transportation is kind of eh, especially in more rural areas, but biking around ain't so bad, though the country roads can be a bit hazardous.)
hey, i won't be out there until the end of august/begining of september. i am moving there to go to school at birthwise, and classes start september 6. i am probably moving to bridgton, about 30 miles away from portland. i don't have a car yet, so i'll mostly be biking and walking around. i was originally planning on moving to portland but it looks like i'm going to be moving closer to school now. anyway, thanks!
Bridgton, eh? My roommate Aleigh lived in a yurt there for a while. I don't know much about it, other than it's rather small and one of Maine's longest-running punk bands is from there.
i've been there so i definetly know how small it is. there's only one stoplight in town! i meant to say in my last post, i've been to lil lads and it is delicious. it was one of the first places i went when i visited maine in may.
