the con list for living in San Diego keeps growing and growing

i've heard so many ppl, countless of times, say how wonderful the weather is. and yes it is, but i would argue, is it worth it? and i'm starting to learn after living here for over 10 years, no, it is not worth it.

i figure unless you spend most of your day outdoors you're are not really benefiting from the weather. and i would agree that the times i do have to spend outdoors is really nice, but brief, so again not worth it.

(also if you're not getting a yearly raise, as i am, san diego just keeps getting more and more expensive. and really, is the weather worth it? again, no!)

san diego is also overcrowded. there are too many ppl here. and that means there are more idiots, assholes, and rude ppl. (and if your neighbors are these ppl, it really sucks, because living spaces in san diego are so tiny [read below], it means that your neighbors are only two feet away from you.)

and since there are too many ppl, these ppl need to live somewhere. so there are too many places to live. any tiny little spot of land is pretty much taken up by real estate. it's really ridiculous! and incredibly ugly! san diego's real estate motif is free-for-all. if you can build it, you can pretty much do whatever you want! so we have shitty houses among rather pretty condos among very old school apartment buildings (and vice versa). to me, it's quite pitiful. i really think they should just bomb san diego and start over. san diego is so unorganized. among the ugly real estate are businesses. and the same goes for that too. there some real nice businesses among the ugly shitty and sometimes scary (ie, places you would never set a foot in) businesses. these businesses are of course randomly placed too. unless you live in northern san diego. in northern san diego they have built the same house over and over again. the same condo... the same apartment complex... and san diego's idea of a condo is shameless. a condo in san diego is basically a two bedroom apartment in IA.

i have actually seen a family of five living in a two bedroom apartment. yeah, just disgusting!

so unless you are a childless bachelor and plan on remaining one and don't have a lot of stuff and will never have a lot of stuff then san diego is the place for you!

also since there are too many ppl, and living spaces are too tiny, san diegans use their garages, if they have one, as storage facilities. so, no matter where you go, there are no parking spots in san diego (unless you live in northern san diego).

[as i was reading this over again, i'm sure you can say this about any big city, not just san diego, but since i live in san diego ...]

overcrowding does have it's benefits. there are plenty of diverse restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. but i would also argue that it can be overwhelming trying to choose which restaurant, bar, cafe, etc. to go to. also there are countless of things to do with your time. but again sometimes it's hard trying to decide what that one thing will be.

but again, is it worth it? is it worth paying extreme amounts of money to live here to have all these things to do/go to? hmmmm, right now my vote is no. i do really like it, but since i don't have the money to do/go to all these things, it's not worth it.

i'm sure i will add more to this, but those are my biggest complaints about san diego.

oh one positive thing: since san diego has nice weather, i can go hiking (but i don't go hiking everyday; so again is it worth it?). and san diego does have some wonderful places to hike. so there's one for the pros, or is that two?
