a cross post that orignally was not going to be

until my friend silverskytears compared this piece of mine to one of Robert Lowell's called Skunk Hour, I did not know how I felt about it. And not that a single compliment can answer that question for me, but it can certainly get me closer to where I would like to be, and it was lovely flattery:)

oh my i love this one dearly, red.

my grandmother sold the only house i ever considered "home" a few years back and I've never quite recovered, it's like the world shrunk and evaporated into mist a little when it happened.
You capture all this so well.

-- the only apricot i've had right from the tree--
one of the things about her place was the constant garden -- rhubarb strawberry pies were a staple of life that i have not since been able to easily pull off or mimic quite right -- and one of my most loved things was a crab apple tree right in the middle of the yard that most people avoided for all sorts of reasons but i loved the bitter fruit.

thank you for all your little comments about our connectivity -- it's true and sometimes i wish we had more time to be closer in that internet way.

oh my daisy dearest, you are that apricot.
the real thing. and our connectivity is that unique fruit.
thank you ALWAYS for your support and encouraging way.
i am equally flattered by you whose poetry i also look upward at.
this is an outline of the house i grew up in.
now after 21 years, it is leaving our family.
and i had a hard time spending my first mother's day there, as it was to be the last holiday in that house with my family, and the first time for sylvan to ever go there.
i was so emotional about all of it.
it pulled some good imagery out of me though, which i find is the basis for every good poem.
