[Then you hear a few 'thunk' noises. Nanako is hitting her communicator against something hard.]

Nanako-chan! [Loud whistles for a few moments.]

H- hi Hikari-chan. Are you going to school today?

[whistleoflight]

I was... but I'm lost! Nanako-chan should stay inside...

Oh!

[And some running, then it stops.]

Aww... [A low whistle.]

[herjunes]

L-lost?! O-oh no... [WHAT DO I DO?!] Umm, uhh... w-were you walking by yourself?

[whistleoflight]

Uh-huh! I was walking to school and I got lost... and then the shadows wanted to play with me!

[Hop hop--thump!] Ow!

[...hop hop!]

The shadows outside are really good at hide and seek.

[herjunes]

Shadows...?

Y-you shouldn't be walking by yourself, Hikari-chan!

[And she lets out a small gasp when she hears that 'ow'.]

Are you alright? Me and Sora-chan are gonna look for you, okay?

[whistleoflight]

Shadows! They appear, but then they go away really fast. [She's quiet for a moment.]

But I wanted to go to school...

I'm okay! I just fell down, but I stood up again! [Hop hop... tiny whoosh.] Sora-chan? Yay! We can chase shadows together!

[herjunes]

...huh?

Hikari-chan, y-you should stop moving around. We might not find you...

[whistleoflight]

W-what?!

[There's a sniffle, and Hikari whimpers softly. Don't scare her like that...]

N-Nanako-chan, I don't want to be lost forever...

[herjunes]

[She didn't mean to!]

O-oh! D-don't worry! W-we're coming really soon for you, Hikari-chan! Ummm... uhh... [Yeah, she sounds SO reassuring!]

[ AND TEAM RESCUE IS A GO.

Sorata's keeping his hand on Nanako's head or shoulder, worried about losing her, too. He has a pretty good sixth sense, sure, but not for this stuff. The fog is creepy, and seems to mess with his power a little (not that lightning would help much right now); he's worried, really, and doesn't know what to look for. ]

Where is she...?

[herjunes]

It's so foggy out here...

[Nanako is clinging tightly on Sorata's arm, fearing she might get separated and lost in the fog too. Her eyes dart around worriedly, searching for any sign of the younger girl.]

Hikari-chan said she was going to the school, s-so she should be near...? [She sounds unsure. The street signs are getting harder to see...]

[Hikari's not really sure either. She thinks she's near the school, but she hasn't seen it; she's a little ways behind it, almost near the warehouses.

But Nanako's already scared her a little, so she holds onto her communicator and just whistles to herself. It's a soft tune she's heard somewhere, but she's not sure; she just knows it's comforting.

She hops back and forth but stays in place, trying to keep herself occupied until they came.]

[ Several times, Sorata thought he heard footsteps or movement; worried it was monsters as well as the missing girl, he froze each time, hand tightening on Nanako. He almost dismissed the whistling, but when it didn't fade after a few seconds, he looked down at Nanako. ]

You hear that, too? [ Kids had better healing than adults, he'd heard that somewhere. ]

[herjunes]

H-huh? Ummm... [Nanako raised her head to peer up at Sorata, having tucked herself behind his arm after catching a small glimpse of a shadow from the corner of her eye.

She listened to the whistling for a little while longer.]

Uh-huh! It's Hikari-chan, it's Hikari-chan! [Recognizing the whistling, she started bouncing up and down excitedly on her heels, tugging at his sleeve. She'd seen Hikari with her whistle at school and would sometimes hear it over the network.]

Hikari-chan! We're here!

[She continued her hopping until she had slowed, but ended up just standing in one place, holding onto her whistle and just blowing softly. As long as she could still whistle for help, she would be okay.

When the shouting came, she stopped whistling for a moment, then sent a louder, questioning toot in response. She didn't want to run over if they were going to disappear like the shadows.]
