Despite my not being able to actively help with the search, I did find something relevant. There's a large, dilapidated shack at the far end of the village, carefully hidden by the forests there. Anyone who's tried to go near it in the past was chased away.

Yes...they trusted me even when it was clear I'd done all I could to save them, and it wasn't enough. I'll write a letter to the people in charge.

Of course, there's only so much I can explain...to speak of the recent things we've discovered might shock them. I'd rather wait for a formal announcement to be made when everything is resolved. ...If everything is resolved.
