Could you both do me the favour of letting me know you're still alive, and relatively well, on occasion?

[taptaptap] And can either of you suggest someone appropriate to take over Nicky's duties?

I am still alive. And relatively well. Surprisingly enough. [crossed out after a few seconds]

[pause]

There is aunt Arisha, but I do believe there are still a few years before she leaves the Lenster Academy? Maybe Alfred? Not uncle Alfred, of course; cousin Alfred.

Comforting, I suppose. ?

Are you sure you mean cousin Alfred? Not Alphonse?

You suppose? Our search seems to have come to an end.

[longer pause]

No. I am not sure. I meant the tall one.

Well not terribly enlightening. Last I heard was something vague about you wandering about the desert. And what, pray tell, were you searching for?

Alphonse is the tall one with the scratchy voice. Alfred's the one whose eyes don't quite look straight, if you know what I mean.

Well, that is not happening anymore, so there is no need for you to worry about it. A missing person.

... then I suppose that would be neither of them.

[pause]

Armand, maybe? Or was that the one who married a lady from Chalphy a few years ago?

I see. I get the impression, however, that you don't intend to come home any time soon? Congratulations on finding them then.

Oh, Armand? Maybe, Armand, yes.

The one who married the girl from Chalphy was Anton.

[long pause]

I am not sure. Thank you, even though I must admit I can hardly claim any credit for it.

You should probably discuss the matter with him, then.

... Anton? Which one of them?

Fair enough. Your pare [Gone!] All the same, I'm sure Lady Valmont appreciated your assistance.

I'll wait for Nicky's input, but I can't think of any reason for him to object...

Anton, son of Hilda who has a fondness for small, yappy lapdogs.

My what? [pause] I would like to think so myself, yes.

Here is to hoping it will work out fine, then.

Ah. That Anton.

Nevermind. [pause] I wouldn't see why not.

One can but hope. [pause for siiiiiiiiigh]

Yes. That Anton, indeed.

Very well. [and pause] Well. You never know.

Indeed.

[longer pause] I was always under the impression that Anton seemed to have a rather pungent dislike to me, for some reason.

Well, as I recall, the two of you used to bicker about the most pointless things. From quite a young age, I mean. He's rather easily offended and I think you used to bait him into it. That was quite some time ago, though.

Oh.

I did not remember that. Obviously. But I suppose it would explain a few things.

It would indeed.

I wouldn't call it a loss for you though. That Anton was very difficult to like for anyone, I think.

I see.

In that case, it would seem that Ulir was remarkably kind, blessing us with his absence.

Ulir is certainly [pause] funny.
