Well that was a bad dream if he EVER had one. That really REALLY hurt, like--wait. Why was he looking at the TOP of these trees that made NO sense at all and--

OH SHIT OH SHIT UH HOW DID THAT GO AGAIN LIKE WHOA WHAT THE FUCK THIS WAS _NOT GOOD_ OR WAS IT OH SHIT
...
Okay so that WAS how it worked. Good. At least Daisy still seemed to be asleep. That was good too. Now what the HELL was going on here? Well, as they said, when in doubt, check your magic journal!!!
Daisy hadn't REALLY been getting that much sleep, ever since she had finally accepted his proposal. Of course, she had been particularly HAPPY lately, because of that, but she had also been pretty nervous as well. She had been trying to fall asleep for a while now, with NO success... so she figured she might as well take a peek at Alln and see if maybe he was awake too--
...
........... what ..... in the DRAGONS ..... name ..... was that.... um... dragon....... and wha-- ALLN!!! Where was he??? NO... it couldn't be that that HUGE dragon had eat--

................................
Daisy rubbed her eyes. Once. Twice. THRICE.
Had that.... had that thing just really REALLY turned into... ALLN?!
Okay. So it looked like he wasn't the ONLY one going through this. He even recognised some of these people. That was WEIRD. And apparently that whole dream about that seal WAS true. Well. This sure explained a lot. Now what was he going to do about all this?
...um?
He turned around. To see Daisy staring at him.
Uh. She didn't just... she was sleeping just now, wasn't she?
...
Oh shi-
Daisy was REALLY staring at him. She was TRYING to come up with an explanation. But she couldn't. Alln was just... STANDING there, with his journal in his hands. Staring back at her. WAIT a second now, was that even REALLY Alln???
She quickly extended her hand to grab her journal from inside her bag, pulling the covers over her head IMMEDIATELY afterward. Something was wrong. Something was VERY wrong. And she was not the only one who thought so, apparently.
THAT WAS IT!!! She'd write him. Yes. That would work. That way she'd DEFINITELY find out if that Alln was really Alln. Only she'd have to get OUT from under the covers to check whether he was actually writing or not... oh WELL. It didn't look like she had any choice!
Okay. So she was staring at him. And-- huh, what was that? Oh she was writing in her magic journal, now?
Um?
That wasn't good. That wasn't good AT ALL. She'd seen him, hadn't she!?
Uh. Yeah. That seemed like a proper response.
Oh GOOD, it really was Alln th-- NO NO NO that WASN'T good at all!!!
She SHOULD give him a reply, though... um... Yeah. Um.
And now she was STARING at him again.
He just kindasorta stood there. Looking back at her, scratching the back of his head- Oh. RIGHT. Pointy ears. At least his hair and hat would cover THOSE up. Oh, and that probably meant... Right. Since they were sleeping until just now, he wasn't wearing a shirt now... and the markings on his upper body and arms were showing quite clearly. Uh. I could hide these, couldn't I- Yep. He still remembered how THAT worked, too.
Daisy was still staring at him from under her covers. He should probably talk to her about this.
He was just... STANDING there. Also, just when had he gotten those tattoos??? Not that they didn't SUIT him...... they actually looked pretty BADASS, and HO-- WAIT, Daisy, what are you THINKING, this isn't the POINT!!!! Besides, the tattoos were gone now anyway and-- WAIT, how did THAT happen???
EVERYTHING was so confusing... Maybe it was just a bad DREAM!!! Yes. So all she had to do was going back to SLEEP! But... for SOME reason, she just couldn't move... nor take her eyes away from Alln. She should at least SAY something! But... BUT... what does one say in a situation like this???
That was a good question. There HAD been quite of few of them lately, too... He sighed as he walked towards her. At least she wasn't FLEEING, that would've been totally lame.
Man, he REALLY wanted to tell someone about this now that he FINALLY could. And being honest WAS good, so!
He dropped down to a crouch in front of her. "Well... I uh... Think we have something to talk about?" Okay, so that opening wasn't QUITE as smooth as he thought it would be.
Well, if there was ONE thing she was positive about, was that when it came to Alln, FLEEING would never be an option. She could be confused, in shock, frozen, speechless, ANYTHING... BUT she would never even consider running away from him.
So she just STAYED there, her heart beating faster with every step he took in her direction. And then he crouched down before her. SO. Talk. Yes. That would be a good idea, wouldn't it? Silently, her eyes not DARING leaving him, afraid to miss anything that might suddenly change again, Daisy pulled the covers up a little, scooting to the side to give him room to join her. She had this feeling it was going to be a LONG conversation, and if that was the case, they might was well make themselves more comfortable.
Eh, she didn't have to stare at him THIS intently. Of course, since he just turned into a DRAGON he couldn't exactly blame her but STILL.
Sigh. Oh well. He gladly took a spot under the covers. They were camping outside, and with the end of summer it WAS getting a bit chilly lately--although he didn't remember it being THIS chilly before--and this COULD be a long conversation yeah... So being more comfortable was a good start!
"So you probably know some stories about dragons, right?"
She didn't HAVE to, but hey, what would he do if SHE had turned into a dragon right before his eyes? It's not like she could HELP it anyway.
Despite the WHOLE situation, it still warmed her, having him so willingly join her. It WAS still him, after all. She was pretty sure no one else could have made her feel like smiling under such... ODD circumstances. Well. This was a good sign, probably.
"... only a few... I guess?" She shifted to lie on her side, her gaze showing a glint of curiosity now.
Well he WAS still him, obviously. Just... more of him. A LOT more. But still, still him! And since "Alln" was probably as close to his original personality a he'd ever gotten, it wasn't REALLY all that surprising he was still acting the same? The fact Daisy was still acting the same as always was definitely more surprising. A pleasant surprise, but a surprise nonetheless!
"Well, that big one about that big war against the dark dragon... I can't really remember all of it, but that one is mostly true." He remembered enough, after all. Now... how did that legend go again this last century or so? They dumbed it down so much, too... Ah... Right! "Well... they say that all the dragons were slain in that war right? And that's why they're extinct now?"
Daisy was certainly surprised herself at her own reaction. But PERHAPS the credit for that was more Alln's than hers. Seeing him acting naturally about the whole thing now had definitely enabled her to feel safe enough to do the same. After all, if he was STILL himself, then there really was nothing wrong, right?
Yeah, she knew THAT one. Well, who didn't, really? But there was ONE thing about what he had said that really caught her attention. "You can't... remember?"
"Yeah. It WAS a long time ago after all, so-" Oh, wait, THAT was what she meant. "And uh... I was there at the time?" Yeah, he was scratching his nose now.
Daisy pondered for a few seconds. "Um... wasn't that... like... HUNDREDS of years ago?" She pouted. It STILL made no sense.
"Well. Yes..." It'd only stay confusing unless he just SAID it, so... "That's because that legend isn't COMPLETELY true... Dragons aren't really extinct aaaaaaand..." Okay. Just say it, Alln. "I'm actually a dragon too?"
Her eyes widened for a moment. "A... dragon... you say...?" That WOULD explain it. In a way. A messed up way, at that. But WAIT a minute, he didn't LOOK like a drag-- oh... OH. Actually... he kinda did. At least a few minutes ago.
"... well, I always knew you were OLD but not that ol--" She had just said that aloud, hadn't she? Yes. She HAD. "... um."
Well. That went... a LOT smoother than he ever expected. "Yes, a dragon. And... I didn't really get any older in the past centuries sooo." Hmm, he was feeling much better about this already! "Maybe it's easier if you ask questions and I answer them?"
To be fair, the fact hadn't quite sunken in yet. But comparing to how confusing things had been BEFORE he had said that, it did make sense now... kinda. Well, more than it did BEFORE anyway. In a way. Sort of. Yeah.
She wasn't REALLY sure she believed him yet. But... it was Alln. And he would NEVER lie to her. Daisy felt guilty doubting him, even if just a little bit. So it was pretty OBVIOUS which would be the first answer she wanted from him. "Why...... have you kept it a secret... until now?"
"Well, it's definitely not because I WANTED to..." Wasn't that the truth. Never being able to tell anyone wasn't exactly FUN. Not that he'd want to tell just everyone but still, it was the PRINCIPLE that mattered! "But apparently, every dragon left was put under a seal after the war ended... I literally couldn't talk about it.”
"... a seal..." She scratched her head. This should be getting EASIER with every answer, not the opposite. "... so it's gone now?"
"I AM talking about it now, so it looks that way~"
"... and that's GOOD... right?" From his expression, it didn't SEEM to be a bad thing, at least.
"It's good for me at least~" Yes, his expression really did clear up quite a bit, although he frowned just little as he thought about it some more. "I don't really know how it is for all the other dragons, though... But I think the seal was broken for everyone?"
Well, if it was good for him, it was CERTAINLY good for her as well. Maybe that even made things a LITTLE easier to accept. Maybe. "... are there many?"
Hmmm. That was a good question, really. Just how many of them were left after that war? Or all these years, for that matter. Still... "I don't really know, but I don't think there's THAT many of us. There are more than a few with journals though."
Hm, now that he tried thinking about it, his memories WERE still a bit fuzzy on just what happened before that seal thing.
"... ah..." Processing so much overwhelming information all of a sudden was making her head HURT a little. But it was fine. She wanted to know. Even if it might take her a while to FULLY understand it. "... and those... um... tattoo... looking... things?"
"Oh, these?" And there they were again. He hadn't actually SEEN them im centuries, so it felt a little weird to him as well. "They're uh... markings. They show what kind of dragon we are. So this is what they look like for a dragon of Blagi." Hmm, they DID look kinda awesome, didn't they?
"... oooh!!!" Her eyes SPARKLED with enthusiasm. They DID look all KINDS of awesome, especially from up CLOSE! Curiosity taking the best of her, Daisy reached out to touch the markings, tracing VERY lightly with her fingertips, as if she was afraid of rubbing them clean.
And then she frowned a little. He had said something... particularly WEIRD, among all those other very weird things. "... dragon of... Blagi?" Her fingers stopped at the recognition of the name.
Alln couldn't help but grin at Daisy's response. He always KNEW they looked awesome! He seemed to remember most other dragons didn't care about them at all, sheesh. Still, that part probably DID need a bit of explaining.
"Yeah, you know how there's a royal bloodline for every dragon god? Well, every dragon god stands for a different species of dragon. So I'm a Blagi dragon."
His face clouded over at that. He really didn't have a lot of good memories about it.
Alln was... a Blagi dragon. Right. And she... well... as much as she'd PREFER it to be otherwise... she did have Blagi blood. Was it COINCIDENC-- no - DESTINY? Daisy realized now she had never told Alln about her bloodline. Not that there WAS much to say really... she didn't know anything about it, other than the fact that she belonged to it. Still, she felt BAD now about keeping it from him...
"I see..." He seemed serious, all of a sudden. "... does that... mean anything in particular?" Maybe if being a Blagi dragon meant something special to him, having Blagi blood could also mean something special to her? She had never been curious about her bloodline... quite the contrary. But now...
"Well... that seal I was talking about? It made us protect that bloodline all the time. Like, I would get REALLY bad headaches and stuff if I tried not to. It really wasn't very fun at all."
Of course, he DID know she had Blagi blood. He didn't realise she never told him, though, and he just assumed she knew HE knew, for SOME reason. He was just happy he'd gotten this lucky for a change.
...
......
Did... he... KNOW, then?! She didn't recall ever seeing him with a headache... and if he had to protect the bloodline ALL the time... then it obviously meant SHE was the one he had been protecting, at least for a while now. He'd hardly ever left her side ever since they'd tagged along, after all.
But HOW could he have known? And more important than that... the fact that he'd always protected her, and taken care of her, and... and... ALL those things he did... had it ALL been because of that seal thing??? And now that it was GONE, was he going to leave???!!! Daisy hadn't realized it, but as she LOOKED at him, with all those thoughts hammering in her head, her eyes were filling with water.
Hey, what, what? Why did she suddenly look like she was about to cry at any moment? Ack, maybe the shock of what just happened HAD hit her after all!!! Okay what to do NOW? C'mon, THINK Alln!!!
Uh... well, that helped her calm down the last time, right? So he just had to hug her? It was definitely worth a shot! Since it was kinda HIS fault this happened and all. "Sheesh, it's not THAT bad, is it, Daisy?"
He was HUGGING her. A farewell hug, she was SURE, now!!! How could he think it wasn't THAT bad that he was leaving?! It wasn't BAD. It was WORSE!!! If the only reason he had been with her ALL this time was because of that seal, then she wanted it BACK!
No no NO, Daisy, you CAN'T be so selfish!!!! If he really REALLY REALLY had no reason to stay now, it WASN'T in her place to force him to... or even WISH he was forced to. It was wrong. She hugged him back tightly, shutting her eyes closed.
"... it's okay... if you don't protect me anymore..." She paused, trying her BEST to swallow her tears. "... I just... I don't want you to leave..."
"Leave? What do you--" Oh. Oh. OH WAIT! He COULD leave now, couldn't he!? With the seal gone, that duty he just described actually WAS a thing of the past and he could actually go where he WANTED to go!!! This way, he was SURE to find a solution to tha-- No, wait. That curse was ALREADY gone, otherwise he wouldn't be TALKING about it like this and... uh...
That meant... err.
Okay just what DID this mean?
"Yes LEAVE because now you don't have to STAY anymore if you were only staying because you HAD to then you don't have to anymore and you're going to LEAVE but I don't want you to but if YOU want then you should leave because it would be WRONG if you stayed because I want when you DON'T want but if you do want to then STAY because I really REALLY REALLY--" And at this point, Daisy started sobbing.
He didn't know what to say to all that. Or what to do. He hadn't even THOUGHT about what he'd do when the seal got lifted for at least a CENTURY. Not seriously anymore, ANYWAY.
SO YEAH. Now what? He didn't think he WANTED to leave, though. Because that would be... uh. Well. What would he DO on his own ANYWAY? Yeah. And even if he didn't HAVE to protect her he still should because it was the right thing to do, OBVIOUSLY. Yeah!!!
"But... I'm not leaving!!!"
...
......
"... oh." Hesitantly, she pulled away only a little, her cheeks VISIBLY wet. "... you're... not?"
"Nope~" Alln confirmed, wiping some of her tears away. "After all, where would I find another awesome dance partner just like that?" It wasn't like he really had anything else TO do now? So there really shouldn't be a problem with continuing as they were.
Her lips curved to form the brightest smile EVER at his words. Daisy ALMOST asked if Alln really really meant it. But just LOOKING at him made it clear for her he DID mean it. REALLY REALLY. She was so happy she had no idea how to SHOW it properly, so before she knew it, she was launching herself at him with FULL force, her smiling lips now glued to his.
Oh- For some reason, Alln still didn't see this coming just like that, and he was knocked on the ground with Daisy lying on top of him. Of course, without a whole bunch of thoughts trying to convince him NOT to do it, he returned her kiss immediately. That was probably one good thing about that seal being broken already~
