So I spent my CNY at the beach in Pasir Ris instead of going to Malaysia to visit my relatives. My parents just get lazier by the year. The beach turned out to be more pleasant than I'd thought. It was very windy and sunny, which was an awesome combination. Daddy fetched the boat from the dock and brought it to the beach... so i did manage to squeeze in a bit of powerboating. we brought my little cousins on a tour in the boat. My dad stopped by some kelongs and asked one of them if he knew what they were.
Cousin: so who lives here?
Me: fishermen, i think. right?
Dad: yeah
Cousin: oh.. I thought poor people.
Me and dad: ....
hahahahaha. my dad stopped the boat a few times and pretended the engine was stalled, just to scare the kids. hoho. i loved seeing 6 little worried faces. yeah we're bo liao like that. i've decided i shan't get my powerboating licence yet. the boat is in dire need of a fresh coat of paint and until it gets one, the licence can wait.
i also managed to squeeze in a jog at the beach. That was when a few very random thoughts came to mind.
1) i miss playing soccer
2) i think tampons are the best invention ever
3) i'm happy
4) i can't wait to wakeboard again
So anyway tonight didn't turn out the way I expected. I finally met up with good ol' Hans. It's funny how, after so long, I don't feel like we've all grown up much. Chatting with him today still feels the same as it did a decade ago..
a decade! i really shouldn't use that word, i feel ancient now.
We ran into Amanda as we were leaving Indochine while walking towards the washroom in Wisma. Was talking to her for a bit in the cubicles.
Amanda: So is he your boyfriend?
Me: no! I've known him for 10 years!
Hans: (from the guys toilet) guys, you know I can hear you right?
hahahahhaaha. when the shops in the mall are closed, keep it down while gossiping in the washroom because you'll never know who's listening.
after indochine, we headed to Clarke Quay to meet Hans' korean friend - the first korean i've met! it was windy outside Iguana and i love having conversations in great weather. In the cab home, i had another random thought - i think my very weak bladder is a blessing in disguise because it somewhat keeps me sober when i've had a bit to drink.
okay, good night.
