"When along the pavement,
Palpitating flames of life,
People flicker round me,
I forget my bereavement,
The gap in the great constellation,
The place where a star used to be."
- D.H. Lawrence, "Submergence"
"My Sister's Keeper" was brilliantly written. Truth be told, I've never cried buckets (or cried at all) over a novel until now. It's my first Picoult book and I loved it. I'm just afraid the rest will not live up to this standard. That's always the case, isn't it?
