Nabari no Ou chapter 51
To everyone who asked me where to find Nabari scans before, ladycaoimhe has put together a list of the download links. This is probably the most complete list to date, but it's still missing a few chapters :3 Anyway, back to the monthly looooong reviews. Not in the mood to write about Tsubasa at all, even though I actually liked this chapter.
PEOPLE, THIS IS ALL WAY TOO SAD...I have to learn how to stop being a cry baby when I read Nabari ;______;
So I was crying all my tears out last chapter because I thought Miharu finally erased Yoite when he didn't want to. But no, the reality is even worse than that. Yoite wasn't erased; he died. Miharu didn't make it on time because he was still confused, and Yoite turned into dust because of Kira's aftermath. The next second Miharu couldn't bear his loss and activated Shinabanshou; what he wished for was "to erase our memories of that person" so he wouldn't have to suffer and be sad about it. That's why the events that happened because of Yoite wasn't reset.

If this doesn't count as a bad end, I don't know what else it is. Say if Yoite was erased, at least it's still a bittersweet ending for him since he had his wish granted. But no. He died when he didn't want to; he left Miharu when Miharu wanted him to stay by his side forever.
Yoite broke his promise with Miharu of not dying until he grant his wish.
Miharu broke his promise with Yoite of erasing his existence.
Why, Kamatani-sensei...? Of all the possible outcomes that could have happened instead, why did you have to choose the worst one...?
Yukimi's "maybe he's still alive somewhere and you'll get to see him again someday" line was especially ironic given that we know what actually happened.
And no, the cute little kitten doesn't make my day better because he is not the Yoite that I know. Even with the same name, it's not the same soul. It's just not...him.
I don't know anymore if I want Miharu and the others to remember Yoite. Fangirl-wise of course I want him to (or at least him and Yukimi), but what will happen if they remember...? Miharu will have to suffer over his loss and bear the guilt that he didn't fulfill Yoite's wish. And Yoite's last wish was for Miharu to be happy and smile in the future...It hurts a lot to see Miharu breaking down like this already, even when he doesn't remember who is that person. Imagine if he does...he probably couldn't live with it...
I have a feeling that he will eventually remember though. Engetsurin is probably the key in here.
Thobari better go hide with Engetsurin forever. Don't use it no matter what, especially if it's an unsealing technique like the anime's. I'm also wondering if Yukimi's diary of Yoite is still around...logically it should be, since Miharu only erased everyone's memory but not things that are related to Yoite. His hat should still be lying in Hanabusa's house too.
And oh dear, I love stalking Kamatani-sensei's blog. It gives me hope. Even though she said that Yoite's arc has ended, it doesn't mean Yoite's role in the story has ended. It's like arcs like Raimei/Raikou and Alya - even though the arcs had ended, we still get to see Raimei, Raikou and Shijima around. I hope the same will go for Yoite. Kamatani Yuhki said the protagonists of the story are still Miharu and Yoite after all; this won't change. I don't know how can she revive a dead person though...

Kouichi ---> So so so cute ;o; ♥ But now it feels awkward to pair him with Raimei. Oh dear, all three of my Nabari otps are dead now. He probably can't return to his parents either...
Yukimi ---> He crawled to Miharu and attempted to call Kazuho even when he was dying...and he feels responsible to protect Miharu from those who want to use him because of that last promise with Yoite. YUKIMI, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY ONE OF MY FAVOURITE NABARI CHARACTERS. Just why does he have to be so sweet and caring to his brats slkfjlsfjls But wth, he needs to stop naming his cats and brats Yoite. This is the third time already. I swear, if he has a kid someday, regardless of whether it's a boy or girl, he's going to name him/her Yooooooite. I love you, Yukimi ;o; And that hug in the end was so sweet, yet sad. Yukimi gave Miharu a cup of lemonade too; using the same cup that he gave to Yoite.
Shijima ---> She looks extraordinarily pretty in this chapter!
Kotarou ---> I really don't trust this man D: It seems that he has another motive than just making the Shinabanshou to disappear forever. Maybe he's like Hattori who wants to create an ideal world. The story suddenly feels so much like Kotarou vs. Hattori...orz
