Haha, I was wondering after your last post. I had been hoping for a DRRR! response and was sad when I didn't see one!
But yes, new OP/ED! I really like the new OP, but I'm in mourning over Trust Me. The animation was really great on that one, but this ending just doesn't measure up. I think I'm half-n-half on which opening I liked best. Can I just say Baccano! OP beats them all and leave it at that? XP
Shinra and Celty is JUST TOO CUTE! I'm squeeing every time I see it. Their interaction are some of the best in the show.
And I don't think that Simon and Izaya are necessairly on the same side though. Just because Izaya seems to know and understand "Russian-ese". Not so surprising given... that it's him... *headshake* I wonder where he learned! Probably don't want to know..
I'm liking the overall feel of the series now. Unlike other series when they shift to the next part with new OP/EDs, it has the sense of actually being a completely new part rather than a continuation. I wish they'd managed that with Baccano, not so much in new OP/ED. but if they'd done more with the novels and jumped to the other year stories.
Oh, that was because I was very busy with school work these past few weeks so I briefly Twitter spam all of my anime impressions instead of writing it here...because I know that once I start rambling in LJ I couldn't stop until I write a whole essay |D; No worries, I didn't drop the show or anything. *laughs* I will try to post more regulary from now on (now that Drrr is getting real interesting) as long as time permits :'D
I...sort of like the new opening sequence better, I guess. The visuals match the music better for me. But yes, while I like the new ED as well, I shall mourn over Trust Me with you D': It's just the best thing ever. And the fans made so many parodies of it.
Even though I find it a bit forceful that Selty suddenly accepts Shinra as her...um, lover (I mean, she never took him seriously on this matter before!), I am not complaining. xD;
It's not the fact that Izaya understands Russian that gives me the thought, but rather how Simon was deliberately trying to pass along some secret message to him. Because darn, even with the translation I still can't understand what they really mean in those two lines, but I'm pretty sure they do have some significance behind their literal meaning. Maybe I'm thinking too much? x__x
