Oregon post to come

So I got back from my Oregon trip on Wednesday. It was so much fun, I had a blast. I'm going to post about it this weekend, but that'll be a monster posting, and I'm too tired to do it now. So instead I'm going to share some fun things that happened the past few days, that gave me a bit of an ego boost.

When I got back to LAX and was waiting for a shuttle home, the guy who was getting shuttles for people was hitting on me hardcore. He asked my name, if I went to school, what I did for a living, asked where I was coming from, he even took my hands and looked at them twice. I had no idea what he was looking at or for, but it was amusing. He was not really my type and was skeeving me out a little towards the end, because he was quite obviously checking my cleavage, but it was still amusing to have him hit on me.

Today I wore a pair of green cargo pants that I haven't fit in since maybe 2002 or 2003. It was awesome.

At Curves, I was walking by a new woman signing up and the Curves lady said something along the lines of, "This is one of our best girls. How much weight have you lost? 40somewhat pounds and 18 inches or more? She's doing amazing, I'm really proud of her. She's a whole new person, she changed the way she dresses, she's sassy, she's sexy, she's doing great." It was so wonderful to have her basically gush about how well I'm doing. And the new woman was kind of staring at me in awe and that was both neat and embarrassing. Embarrassing to think how I looked 40+ pounds ago, but neat to think that I really did lose that much and I'm still going strong. It just made me feel really accomplished.

I had a nice non-date with Jed to go see "Serenity" at the Galleria. He said he loved it, even though he never saw "Firefly" and even though he missed the first 10 minutes because he was in the wrong theater. Oops. But it was fun hanging out with him as usual, so that was good.

I was talking to Vic in the kitchen after Jed left and we were chatting and being silly. I said something especially silly and he was giving me a funny look and I asked what the look was for, and he said that what I said was something his family would say. Heh.

But maybe the neatest thing was that I went on MySpace tonight and had a friend request from a guy I went to high school with. I wasn't really friends with him, but we were friendly enough. And then a few minutes ago, a different guy I went to high school with left me a really sweet comment:

hey emily, i still have the flowers you geve to me in the 10th grade sitting on my shelf. thank you. i hope you're doing well. talk to you later

I commented back and said how I didn't remember, and he commented again:

it's ok if you don't rmemeber, it was valentine's day if i'm not mistaken. they may have been plastic, but they were the only flowers i got that year, so thank you very much

I was friendly with this guy too, a bit more than the first guy, and he was always nice to me, even when others weren't so much. It just made me feel nice that he'd go out of his way to tell me something like that. It was really sweet. So needless to say, I'm in a pretty good mood right now. =)

Oregon post to come!

blast from the past, road trip, get down and break a sweat!
