Concert!

So yesterday actually worked out very nicely. I got out of work early enough to get home, take a shower and a nap before the concert. I went over to where Brandy works to pick her up and we headed over to Troubadour around 8ish. I had a brain fart and thought the concert started at 9:00, but it actually started at 8:00. Wasn't a big thing though, because there were 2 opening acts and we just missed most of the first opener. They were decent, but nothing I'm real upset over having missed.

Shurman was the second opener, and since they were listed on The Clarks website, I'd gone to check them out. I downloaded a bunch of songs and dug them, so I was expecting to like them. And they were real good. Had a country-rock type of feel to them and put on a great set. Brandy also really liked them. And it was really neat because Rob was in the crowd watching them play, so that was fun for me. I love Rob.

Finally, The Clarks came out! It was a great show. Brandy and I were right up front, and I was in front of Rob like usual. It's funny, because I stood by Rob's area the first time I saw them, and I've just always stood in the same place since then. Now it's just tradition or habit or something.

The place wasn't that crowded, but there seemed to be a lot of Pittsburgh-ers in the audience. I don't know whether they all live in LA now or followed them out here, but there was one girl who was spazzing out. Like, teenybopper at an NSYNC concert spazzing out. It was lame. I hate girls who get that stupid. There was also an incident where someone a can of coke got dropped on the front of the stage and started spraying everywhere. Got my sleeve, which was annoying. At least the dumbasses had the decency to run and get some paper towels. Yeesh.

They did their set, and then did their usual run off, run back on for 2 more songs. It was just a fantastic show in general. They're always great live. Every single time it's awesome. I couldn't stop grinning during the concert, it's just so fun. I'd see them in concert every night if I could.

I made my usual attempt to grab the set list, and as usual it was snatched right under my nose. I was literally just starting to lean in to take it, and some guy darted in from nowhere and grabbed it. Even Brandy saw it. It was so frustrating because the exact same thing happens every time. I always wait like, 3 seconds too long and then someone grabs it. Blech.

Brandy and I hung around a bit, because she wanted to pet Dave. When he came onstage she went, "Hello!" And then he took off his shirt and was just in his wife beater and her jaw literally dropped. It was amusing. So we were waiting so she could talk to him, and she spied Dave's set list kinda hidden back by his drums. She asked one of the stagehands if she could steal it, and he gave it to her, which she handed over to me. I could not have loved her more. So last night I finally got a set list. And I was beyond happy.

Even better was that the stage hand also gave us each one of Dave's drumsticks. I didn't even realize they gave them away after the shows, but I wasn't complaining. It was fun, I was twirling the stick the rest of the time we were hanging out. After we obtained sticks, Brandy went over and attacked Dave. I thought she was joking when she said she wanted to pet him, but she walked right up to him and pet his jacket. I was very amused. I got a picture of them which I hope comes out because it was very cute. We chatted with him briefly and then chatted with Greg. I love Greg almost as much as I love Rob. Hee!

We left after that, because it was late and we had work the next day and were tired. So we didn't get to talk to Scott or Rob, but it's okay. There was so much happy in that night, it didn't take away from it. On the way out I bought Strikes & Gutters 2, and then stole a poster off the front door. The poster is now on my bedroom door and it looks marvelous there. It was a fabulous night and I was glad Brandy came with me. She liked them a lot and wants to borrow my CDs to burn copies. I'm all for it. She thinks I can turn Jen into a fan as well, and I accepted that challenge. Slowly but surely I am turning everyone I know into Clarks fans. Muahaha!!!

In non-Clark news, I got a call during lunch today for an interview for an Office Assistant job. It'll be next week sometime, not sure exactly when yet. It was a pleasant surprise. The chick seemed to like my resume and said I sounded good on the phone, which is a lot of what the job would be. It'd be awesome to get another job right away, but I'm not counting on it. I'm not gonna say another word about it until I know something. This weekend is the first weekend in a while that something isn't going on. It'll be nice to sleep in, relax, clean the house up a bit, just chill. I could definitely use a low-key weekend. Though if someone called me asking to hang out, I might say yes. =Þ
