Happy Turkey Day!

Yeah so I'm writing this today because I was too tired to last night. But I had a really fabulous Thanksgiving. First there was the cleaning of the house stage, so we were all bustling about cleaning everything up so it would look nice and pretty. Then we started getting some of the food items ready, like prepping the turkey and the deep fryer and I started cleaning my potatoes. Only Stephanie and Rick came over, but I liked the fact that it was a small group.

There were yummy appetizers and we hung around a bit while things cooked. Then I disappeared to the kitchen for a while because I had to mash up all my potatoes and then cook my glazed carrots. Everything was ready around 3ish. We had the deep fried turkey, my mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and glazed carrots, stuffing, 7 layer salad, broccoli, corn bread, actual bread, and cranberry sauce. I didn't really eat that much, but what I did have was delicious. Steph complimented me on my carrots and mashed potatoes, and Vic later said my sweet potatoes were good, so I was happy.

We sat around the table for a bit, and then eventually we all cleaned up. Which didn't really take that long. Then we lounged in the living room a bit, trying to escape the turkey coma. Most of us succeeded, but John didn't. He went to go call his parents and fell asleep after hanging up with them. I looked at the clock at one point, and he was gone like an hour or so, and I just knew he fell asleep...hehe.

Around 6:30ish Ryan and I started getting our desserts together to bring to their friends Melissa and Lyncho's place. Ryan made a Boston Cream Pie and I made some cookies, along with the cheesecake I'd made the day before. All of us headed over to the other place, except Rick who ducked out to go to another Thanksgiving. It was really fun at Melissa and Lyncho's and it was nice to finally meet them because I'd heard a lot about them and seen their recent wedding video. Lyncho's parents and sister were there and that was interesting and amusing because his mom is very outspoken and likes to embarrass her kids.

There were a good number of people that showed up after us, and there were soooooooo many desserts. Again, I didn't really eat that much but what I did have was good. I think I was too tired at that point to deal with chewing and swallowing. But it was a lot of fun. There was one point where Doto was making chocolate martinis and he accidentally let go of the shaker a bit and it splashed all over another girl and got in her eye. She was fine and everything, but he felt soooooooo bad. Doto has been known to have incidents occur around him, but they mostly happen when he's drunk. We tried to reassure him though, because it wasn't like he did it on purpose or anything. I'm sure they'll both get over it though. It wasn't that bad.

We left the party around midnight and came back home. I think the best part of the day was the fact that the four of us were all out together for the first time. It felt really nice. Like the circle was complete or something like that. I mean, I really felt like I belonged and I feel like I'm really growing to be a part of this house and their group and everything. I love the guys and I love this house and I love their friends and I love LA. I'm so happy to be here and I'm so thankful for Craigs List and so thankful for Marilyn for allowing me this opportunity. Because without her, I wouldn't be here.

And now today, Vic and I are decorating for Christmas and maybe buying a tree! *glee*

holidays, superhouse, party people
