The first half of the day was great. Got up at 10:00 on the nose, made a yummy breakfast, and went to Valencia to babysit. I got there a little before 1:30, left at 4:30 got paid $40, a pile of magazines and a free sample of a facial treatment because Lisi does Mary Kay stuff. I had fun with Hunter May too. We played in her room a little bit, then we watched "The Carebears Movie" 1 and a half times. While watching the movie I was a cat, a dog, and made her stuffed animals act out scenes again. It was cute. Even cuter was when I was leaving, Hunter gave me a hug and kiss and then calls out, "I love you, Emmy!" Needless to say, I melted just a little. She is so cute. I'm going back Tuesday and I'm happy about that.
Onto the notsogood. I went to work on the script stuff right after babysitting. Started out fine. I got on the computer and was making lists of things to do on Microsoft Excel. Then a bunch of us were going over some parts in the script, the co-writer was making notes and it was a good brainstorm/workshop.
Towards the end, something was changing that the original writer was not happy with. The discussion turned to debate, then to a heated debate, and then all hell broke loose. It was a surreal and crazy situation. The writer was literally going apeshit because he thought we were all ganging up on him. He couldn't step back from his story and was taking the changes too personally. I understood this, but at the same time he couldn't acknowledge this was happening. He was just defensive and unresponsive to what were were saying. We must have been arguing for literally an hour.
The director, who had flown all the way from India, I might add, had gone to the backroom because he couldn't take the arguing anymore. It was to the point where we weren't even arguing about the script, we were just trying to figure out what was making him crazy and trying to make him understand we were only trying to help make the script as good as it can be. I eventually said, "I have to go home, but I want to know whether I should come back tomorrow or whether I should wait for you to call me when you're ready." So we left it at they will call when the script is locked and they're ready for me to come do whatever it is I'm going to do.
Which means, I have no idea where this leaves us. After seeing all that shit go down, I'm not so sure I want to be working on this project anymore. I think it will depend on how much time goes by before I hear from them. If a week goes by, maybe it'll be okay. If it's more than a week...I dunno. Only time will tell.
