Farewell to Ithaca

Jul 24, 2004 01:09

Today was fun and productive. Just about everything is packed up, except my clothes, my posters and some bathroom supplies. I have people coming tomorrow for my bike and computer monitor, and I have 2 people interested in my couch. I just hope one of them takes the stupid thing. I'd rather not throw it out, because that's a waste. But I'm not gonna lug it home or around Ithaca trying to find a place for it. So hopefully someone will take it. Or maybe I'll donate it to the Hudson Heights complex. I'm sure someone would use it eventually. We'll see.

Anyway I packed a bunch more, and Kat and I finished watching "My So-Called Life." So now she's seen the entire series and loves it. That makes me happy. She went to work, I packed some more, watched "Emma" which was very romantic and cute and I had no idea that "Clueless" was based on it. But it was a happy movie and I liked it. After that I met Nell and Laura to go to Applebees for dinner. We did and it was good. I was afraid they didn't have my big blue booze drink, because I couldn't find it on the menu. But I described it to the waitress and after a minute or so she got it. And it came and was blue and smelled like fairies and was delicious.

After that we got ice cream at Friendly's and brought it back to Kat's, because she had gotten off work at that point. We hung out there a bit and now it's time for bed because I am pooped. Tomorrow Laura is taking me to the Time Warner Cable place to return my modem, and also to return stuff at the library. So we're leaving at 11:00 to do that, and then I have to pack my clothes, and be home so people can pick up the stuff they want. Then Dad's getting here, and we'll probably go to Simeon's for dinner. The girls were talking about going to the Common Ground for 80's night tomorrow, but I don't want to leave my dad here alone and I don't know if he'll want to come along. We'll play that one by ear and see how tired we both are tomorrow.

It's sad that I'm leaving really suddenly, but it feels like a good ending to a great 4 years. This will be my last LJ update from Ithaca and that's kind of bittersweet. Well, Ithaca...this is it. It's been real. It's been fun. It's been real fun.

college stuffs, drunky mcdrinksalot, moving on up!
