Thursday and Friday: A Retrospective

Apr 09, 2004 23:08

So I skipped classes on Thursday to play Zelda, and then I ended up hanging out with Kat and Jeff. Kat and I had planned to see "Starsky & Hutch" at 6:50, and Jeff randomly dropped by a couple hours before we left. So we chilled for a while, and then went over to Wegman's because Kat said they made cheap subs there. They do. And they're good. Jeff almost came to the movie with us, but he had work due that day. Work...feh. I've given up on work. At least until tomorrow.

So we saw "Starsky & Hutch" and after seeing it in its entirity, I decided that it is actually a pretty funny movie. Either the company made the difference, or the fact that I saw the entire movie, not just the middle, made the difference. Either way I liked it a lot. On the spur of the moment, we decided to stay and see "Taking Lives" as well. We had an hour to kill between the movies, so we went to Borders and Target. It was funny, because I had randomly told Kat how I wanted to have a nursery for my kid, and have it be all yellow and duck themed, and then we kept seeing duck stuff at Target. Like a yellow duck lamp and we were like, "That'd be good for the nursery!" And then I saw yellow feet pajama things for an infant...with ducks on them! I almost cried. I almost bought them. For the future, you know? Hehehe. I didn't though.

We went back to see the second movie, and three fucking obnoxious bitches came in during the trailers, talking loudly. And they did not shut up for the first 30 minutes, at least. They were talking to each other about what was happening on screen, and totally unrelated things. I mean, I could pick out entire sentances, they were so loud. Finally I was so pissed that I shushed them. It worked for like, 10 minutes. Then they started whispering again, and eventually were talking again. But I think at that point I tuned them out, because I was into the movie. Afterwards, Kat went up to them and said, "I just wanted to thank you for talking during the entire movie." And as she walked away one of the stupid whores goes, "Oh, no problem!" I didn't hear it myself, but Kat told me later. Pissed me the fuck off. Common courtesy and manners just don't seem to exist anymore.

Today work was busier than usual, because Cindy was off for the holiday weekend, and Bob had some appointment, so everyone was covering each other's jobs. But luckily we didn't have quite so many packages to deal with. And we got Easter lollipops. They were good too, Lifesaver ones. There were extras, so I had two there, and took a couple home for later. After work I was planning on writing some pages for Tuesday, but that didn't happen. Instead, I played more Zelda. I went through the entire Gerudo Training Camp, and then at the end wasted 2 keys in the wrong spot, and couldn't get the Light Arrows. Luckily I hadn't saved the game, so I just restarted and did it again. Didn't take that long to do over, and this time I got the arrows. So that made me happy. Next is the Spirit Temple, which is my favorite temple...heehee.

I work Saturday and Sunday this weekend, but I figure it'll be semi-quiet. Being Easter and all. And Sunday I get time and a half, which makes me happy. Also makes me happy, is my Dad helped me find a number to call and ask about my NY Taxes, because we thought I had the wrong form. And it turns out that you file after making $3,000. I only made $2,446. So I don't have to file state taxes! Woo! I'm all for not stressing out over paperwork. I guess if there was ever gonna be a silver lining, to me not finding a job last summer...this would be it. I'm debating going back to that vegan shit I did a few months ago. Maybe not as strictly as before, but maybe cutting out all meat and some carbs for a while wouldn't be a bad thing. I know I haven't been eating enough fruits or veggies lately. I gotta get back on that.

I feel like there was something else I was gonna say, but then I got up to brush my teeth and when I came back I'd forgotten it. Damn premature alheizmers. Alheimerz? How do you spell that? Eh, I'll just pull a Ben and call it Oldtimers.

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry Ben.
It is the story of a boy,
Who can't remember why or when!

assholes, geek!, movies
