[Christmas time. Even if she's stuck in some parallel dimension or kidnapped by time-and-space ninjas and forced to live in the 1950's (she's not sure what to believe), it can be safely said that Bree is a little used to Mayfield by now, and having some Christmas cheer? Why, that just makes it all better. It's also about time that she did something ( Read more... )

[This kid at 1247 Williams is home from school this afternoon. He wasn't expecting anyone to be dropping by.]

Ah... can I help you?

[She'll take what she can get. His father or mother here might be drones, so she'll just talk to whoever opens the door like they're the only sane person in the household.]

Yes, I'm your new neighbor, Bree Van de Kamp. I thought I'd bake you some muffins so I could get to know everyone here.

[Wow. Not too many people would do that after arriving in Mayfield. He's pleasently surprised.]

Oh, that's very kind of you. My name's Calleo Crowe, nice to meet you. Ah, would you like to come in? I could put some more tea on.

I'd be delighted, Calleo. [She's just glad she's not being mistaken for a drone.] And I could see just how much you enjoy my baking.

[He's gotten good at picking out drones quickly, he's been here too long.]

I'm sure it's great. It's easily better than mine!

[He'll lead you into the kitchen, where he's been sitting all morning working on his project. There's a notebook and a photo album, with some photos of people in town that he's still sorting through. He goes over to the stove to put the kettle on.]

Have a seat. Ah, don't mind the mess though, I'm just working on something.

All it takes is some practice and good, old-fashioned heart. I'm just glad I can find people who will enjoy my cooking here.

[She looks at the photos and the notes, but she does so slyly--no long, lingering glances. Just enough to pique her curiosity! She sets down the muffins at an open spot.]

Thank you. Are these friends of yours?

I'm working on it. I want to make my friend cookies for Christmas. It's been tougher than I thought it would be.

Ah, yes. For the most part. I'm keeping a record of people who come in and out of Mayfield, since people come and go so fast... it's nice to be able to remember them as they should be.
