I'm going to start carrying around a pad of Post-its for jotting down stuff I'd like to take care of before I leave on September 25th (marked by an asterisk), and also actions I need to take to improve myself and feel more fulfilled overall. I'm trying to be realistic about my lifestyle and habits, which is why of course #2 could be earlier, but c'mon, this is ME. Over time, maybe I can scale back even further, but for now, I think 1 - 1:30AM's good enough.
Anyway, here's what I've come up since 2AM last night. It's all kind of random and unedited. I'll keep adding to this entry, as the summer comes to a close.
1. Stop scratching (my scalp, in particular).
2. Get in bed by 1 - 1:30. Only stay up past 2 once a week.* (I doubt this'll work in college.)
3. Limit expenses to food and gifts.
4. Be more generous.
5. Stop "getting off on helping others," as Keane put it.
6. Exercise 3 days a week, do light workouts every day. Increase flexibility.
7. Accept yourself.
8. Learn how to do the laundry.*
9. Cook spaghetti.*
10. Read a novel.*
11. Ride the cable cars, buses, and trains with Mark.*
12. Replay Senior Mystery Night with Soph, Rach, Janay, and Tom.*
13. Learn the basics of Calc and Chinese.*
14. Download 1 new album every 2 weeks.*
15. Go biking and running.*
16. Freshen up the air in your room by opening up the window twice a week.*
17. Drink 3 - 4 bottles of water a day. Throw out bottles after 2 days.
18. Drink 1 cup of milk each day.
19. Stretch, breathe, and meditate for 1/2 an hour before sleeping.
20. Stop apologizing.
21. Be more independent and less needy.
22. Take shorter showers, only 15 - 20 mins long, to save water.
This post may give you guys an idea of how my summer's gone so far. I've done a lot, yet nothing at all, at the same time. Man, I need to get a move on with my life.
