I officially moved out of my second-year house today. I wasn't as sad as I thought I was going to be. I'd done most of the packing on Saturday and my dad helped me finish the last few bits off and to clean the room before we left. It's strange being at home. There's a lot of food that's good-quality, but as of now I am going to have self control and stop eating the biscuits, sweets, crisps, cake etc. that're there.
This evening my dad took me for a drive in my mam's new MG. Wow. We went to the Headland to visit my grandparents. They seemed to be doing well and I got fussed over for a little bit. Sure, they told me the stories I've already heard from my parents and ranted about the same old things (although my Gran's boycott of the Associated Dairies is a new one; apparently it's now too expensive - the woman has never shopped in Beanies...), but it was good to see them.
Last night was very very good. I went through the Manchester to visit the mof and go to see Amstell's stand-up. We had a mini-picknick in the afternoon, with rye bread and cheese and little quiches and salad. The show was on in the Lowry in Salford and was really fun. He's had his hair cut like I want to get mine done (tomorrow, 8.30am), short on the back and sides with the moppy fringe, which is basically what I have now, I guess. Although some of it was a bit weak, I though the majority of it was great. Afterwards we went to Trof for a couple pints of cider and then back to the house. This morning aten we pannenkoekjes, omdat ik bij een nederlander was.
So yeah, now I think I'm fully packed for Sweden it's beginning to dawn on me that we're going on Wednesday. I'm going down to Wakefield tomorrow at midday to meet Dave and Catherine. I checked my tickets earlier on to discover that I'd booked them for the 18th, not the 17th. Fucktard. So I got that sorted. It does mean that I have to use one of these fast-collect things for the first time in my life, but it should be good practise for doing it in Gothenburg on Wednesday..?
I shall keep you posted about Sweden.
