I am beginning to think that the German outside of Germany is a stange thing. I have spoken to five of them this evening. We were at a "dress as your flag" event, and, although a couple of people where unsure about the red cross on my face, most realised that I was English.

So I started talking to some German people. Two of them were from Hamburg (one was from Altona, wheey, but we didn't establish places we both new), and the others were from "den Osten", "den Süden" or "Leer"(hah, unlucky).

The two guys from Hamburg were really nice, but probably because I had something to talk to them about. Both of them told me that I spoke "very good German, almost without an accent". The others told me I spoke "good German, but with an English accent".

Does this mean that I have a Hamburger accent when I speak German!?

Aso spoke to a guy who's girlfriend is the female assistant in Sheffield this semester. He said I have to go to pinkpop. Dutchies, is this worth it?

pinkpop, germans, nederland
