Children's Day Shootout

Paintball, BBQ, and Good Times on Children's Day

Korea observes Children's Day in May each year.  Its a pretty big deal and one of the few holidays that EPIK, Hagwon, and University teachers get off from work.  Here in Pohang we have started an annual tradition of shooting each other in the face with paintball guns.  The guy running the field has taken a shining to us since we go once a month in the fall and spring.  Because these are his slow times he usually gives us a deal on paintballs.

We played 2 games of elimination and 2 games of Capture the flag.  Then we topped it off with a game of every-man-for-himself.  I thought I had the title of Sole-Survivor after eliminating EPIK Scott and EPIK Dan, but it turned out that I had been shot in the head.  Unfortunately I hadn't realized it in the frantic last moments of the battle when the two had decided to corner me from opposite angels and eliminate me before moving on to eachother (there can be only one!)

It was a great day to play.  My team got murdered in the first to games.  The other team had some fit players and played very aggressively.  Also EPIK Scott was really on his game that day.  At one point he had EPIK Kory and I pinned down all by himself.  He accepted a large collection of bruises in order to reach choice firing positions.

Only head shots count in our way of playing.  We feel it is necessary to prepare players for the coming Zombie Apocalypse...  So EPIK Scott might have his head behind a tree, but I was not above shooting him in the legs, ass, and arms to help him with rethinking his recent choices.

A good time was had by all.
