What is it about South Korea that makes you want to stay there longer than a one year contract?
First, I still feel like I just got here. Time has just flown. I intensely enjoy living abroad and working with people from a different culture. Probably most importantly I can live here rent free and with a low cost of living, this makes it possible to not only pay off tons of debt, but also to travel to other countries in my spare time. I like my job and have tons of spare time to work out,
learn guitar, write, read, learn Korean,
make stupid videos, or whatever I happen want to put my energies into. Basically I am simply the happiest that I have ever been in my entire life.
But those are the factors that are PULLING me to Korea. There are other factors that are PUSHING away from the US. The job market sucks. Even if I could currently do something with my degree outside of managing a Denny's my standard of living would drop considerably because everything is so much more expensive AND costs of living are rising.
Are they really communists?
The only way I know how to respond to this is with the following photos, which are equally rediculous:
How do you survive in a 3rd World country? (i love this one!)
See this
previous post. Then get yourself an encyclopedia. Then get bent.
In all seriousness, although the Korean mind-set can be ass-backwards at times (not unilke the US at times), I want for very little in this country.
