I am going to Spain in about a week in a half. The 23rd I flyout of Phoenix for Madrid! I am very excited. It probably isnt helping that I bought a Lonely Planet book for Madrid and Andalucia and have been studying them intensively.
I am still trying to figure out what to do with that time between when the program ends (June 30th.) and when I fly out of Madrid (July 12th). Also the key is going to be having enough money left over for when I am in Chicago until July 20th and until I can find another job when I get back.
I am nervious about my Spanish. I have never been good at languages but I have taken Spanish up to 202. To add to my concerns, the Spanish speak Spanish differently than the Venezulalians and Mexicans that I have been learning it from.
I have almost everything I need; I bought some new clothes, a money belt, a new memory card for my camera, Lonely Planet books, etc. I just need a new set of shoes that wont make my feet hurt.
She Who Shall Not Be Named's B-day is June 3rd and I will be sad to miss it, but I am giving her gifts before I go. I didnt get to get her everything that I wanted too, because of losing my job, but I am sure there will be plently of souvoniers (recuerdos) when I get back. I am half tempted to just buy a bag of keychains like I did in Japan for all the various people that I forget to get something for.
I am thinking about going out to Toledo (Spain) and buying a bunch of T-Shirts for my family because we are all from around Toledo (Ohio).
I can not wait to try the food, the books I have been reading are making my mouth water. And the drinks. The wine sounds good, and the different liqours and what not.
