I'm finally catching up on my backlog of SMAP fic. I love future-tense fics - they're so hard to do right, and so few people do it properly and I never do it well myself, but when it's done right there's such a nice... feeling about it. Something uncertain, yet certain about it and this fic is gorgeous that way.

Geez, I just rambled on didn't I?

So what I really wanted to say was that I really liked this whole thing but I really just want to quote the entire paragraph that's in future tense but I will resist and say that I love this line so hard:

They will go to Kimura’s where they will proceed to make a mess of the place and of themselves and Tsuyoshi will end up sitting on the floor next to Kimura, back against the couch, from which Shingo’s hand will hang down playing with his hair but Tsuyoshi won’t even notice, too aware of Kimura’s leg stuck between his.

The tension that is soooo palpable it's gorgeous.

Did I mention I love how you write? ♥ Just wanted to make sure you knew cause I've been missing out on SMAP action lately and am just trying to get back into the groove of things.

ikr, playing around with tenses is kind of hard to do right and admittedly i was raaaather uncertain if i didn't just mess it up completely. i'm so so so glad it sounds right to you. <3 i really like this feeling of seeing into the future too.
