I have no idea how many time Love Lives made me almost cry. and then one day I woke up and as I was getting out of bed humming this song, I suddenly realised. how freaking bad the lyrics are! my heart, it was sold so cheap!

oh baby, I couldn't even stand listening to Kimu's version at first because my eyes were watering away and my heart was aching and just ohgod, what it reduced me to wasn't a pretty view. it's got better but it's still a self-destructive song for me. ;.;

lol, I wish! it's like the most epic of his kissing scenes. [it's also quite funny after you watch the movie but it would take me too much explaining now why I find it funny, so just. you know. watch the movie.]

It's not just her. It seems that all women in Japanese dramas, when kissed by a gorgeous guy, just go - "what? Get off me - I mean - well, maybe - oh, alright."
They never seem into it at all - even if they ARE.
Apparently it's not culturally acceptable, as a woman, to have genuine enthusiasm for anything sexual. (Most often spoken line by Japanese porn actresses: "Stop". Followed by "no". GAHH.)
Excuse my anger. Right now I'm as annoyed with Japan almost as much as I'm in love with it.

...I couldn't wait for the subs, so the first time I watched it without any. and my Japanese is somewhere between a zero and beginner level. I enjoyed it anyway. XD but then, I'm obsessed.

this is so, so sad. I am glad that the Judeo-Christian cultures have been leaving this kind of view in the past, where it belongs, [sometimes admitting that you like sex will still earn you a label of a whore, which really pisses me off, but it's better than years ago anyway] so to see Japan constraining its women like this makes me sorry and angry. because doesn't it actually make it less enjoyable for them when they're forced to believe that they shouldn't enjoy it? [now that I think about it, maybe this is why arranged marriage still works for them? if you're not supposed to have fun in bed, then I guess it doesn't matter if you're attracted to your husband or not. as long as he is your husband. because, you know, you can't be a wholesome human being if you're not married. o.O] Japan & sex is one hell of a twisted matter anyway.

I imagine so. Though not all the time - I've heard stories from two separate boys about having a sexual encounter with a Japanese girl in which she said things like "No!" and "Stop!"... only to then encourage the boy when he actually did what she said. It's like no doesn't mean no. wow. when it's guys enforcing the view that "no" means "yes", while it's still rather sad, well, you meet dicks like this all over the world [there's at least one in every bar, I suspect]. but when a girl acts like this, it's really frightening how brain-washing culture can be. because I have no idea why else you would want to convince a guy that saying you doesn't want something means you actually do. [consent play is a totally different thing and I have nothing against it either, as long as everything is made clear.]

the one-of-them-is-presented-as-a-girl trend does happen in fanfic too and I don't even get it. isn't it the point to have two men together?
