Once again, it's been quite some time since I last posted, the reason for my continued absences being partly a busy real life schedule and partly a depressing lack of motivation when it comes to writing and fandom things. I've been reading a bit lately, however, and have a few recs to share.
" Earth Is Like the Midwest of the Federation Planets" by builtofsorrow. Can't say I'm much of a Star Trek fan, though I did enjoy the new movie a lot, but I came across this, about Winona Kirk and her life as she raises her son, and it's both moving and beautiful.
" These Things My Mother Taught Me" by halcyon_shift. T: SCC. John-centric, set after the show's ending. A dark, well-written and plausible take on what might have happened. ETA: The writer turned this into a wonderful series, the Out on the Wire Verse.
