SUNDAY SESSIONS!

Feb 09, 2009 12:48

This entry is about yesterday (Sunday). It's super-long, so if you're going to attempt to read it, pace yourself :P

Cool beans.

I'm so fucking high. Because yesterday was absolutely brilliant. That's not even the beginning. You know when you have zero plans for the day, but then people contact you out of nowhere first thing in the morning, and suddenly you have your entire day planned out... yeah, that's awesome. That's pretty much what happened yesterday. I had no plans, but ended up spending the entire day - 9:00 a.m. until sometime past midnight - out. I love having different groups of friends who do different things for fun; it suits me just fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. More than fine. Perfectly.

The day kicked off early in the morning when Josh messaged me and told me he was on the way to my house, and would be here in 15 minutes. I didn't actually officially tell him I would be going to the beach with him and Anton, but I guess he took my non-committal answer as a yes. I was still in my PJ's and hadn't even started preening myself yet when I got his message, so I was like "WTF WTF WTF" and rushed around the house like a headless chicken. I have got to get used to these unexpected plans. Josh and Anton wanted to go surfing, and wanted me to tag along for fun (well, I don't know how to surf that's for sure). It was a nice day. It was between really sunny and overcast in the morning, but ended up just being really sunny the rest of the day. I brought my soccer ball along as Josh requested, and we headed up to Burleigh. They kept paying me out for being a dunce because I forgot my beach towel and Josh had to turn the car back so I could get it. He was only three streets away when I remembered! Damn bitches :)

The surf was alright, nothing particularly surf worthy though. I sat on the beach, with the ball and a book (Hiding in the Mirror: The quest for alternate realities, from Plato to String Theory by Lawrence M. Krauss), while they went in search of a wave. I couldn't concentrate on my book for long. I felt too carefree. There was a lovely breeze and the sound of the waves crashing was so hypnotic, I closed my eyes and meditated (or the equivalent of what I think is meditation) for awhile, until the guys came back with their boards and shook water all over me. We sat on the beach and just chatted for a bit... about work and uni and how best to live out the prime of our lives and architecture and sports and fashion and some other random stuff. Out of all the guys from M.P.S. I love Anton and Josh the best by far, but Mitch, Jason and Marc are pretty cool too. I guess I just don't talk to them as much - they are more reserved and probably more introverted. And then there's Kerri, who is a really cool girl but she's got her own thing going on all the time. So really it's just me, Josh and Anton half the time. I got really annoyed at myself because I forgot to bring my camera. I thought it was in my bag and I was in such a rush in the morning I forgot to check if it was. I took it out of my bag last night to upload the photos I took of Kit and I during our Girl's Night Out, and didn't put it back in. ARGH. I hope we get a chance to get together again, otherwise I won't have any photos of them for my summer holidays album :P

Chris Frawley texted me at about 9:45 a.m. and asked if Jamez (James Thorburn) and I were doing anything today, and that he was going swimming for an hour but would be free after 11. It's funny how Chris F never texts Jamez even though he has his number; for some reason he always goes through me first. So I wrote back saying I would be free after 2:00 p.m. and messaged Jamez to tell him Chris wanted to do something. Jamez said he would be free. Ok, in this particular entry Chris Frawley is going to be referred to as just "Chris". Anyway, I told Chris to let me know where he would be at 2 p.m. so I could meet up with them after my brother's birthday lunch.

When the sun came out again, we played a bit of soccer. There weren't many people around at that time, so we had some space to kick the ball around. Have you ever tried running after a soccer ball in sand? Yeah, it's hard. We got pretty hot after like 20 minutes, so we went for a dip in the ocean. I actually forgot to take my glasses off, haha, and I couldn't be bothered to run back up to our pile of stuff, so I didn't submerge myself completely. I lay on my back though and floated around for a bit, gazing at the sky, until the guys decided it would be so hilarious to pop up on either side of me and tickle me. I choked on seawater so badly, lol. And murdered them. And buried the bodies in the sand. Really :P Nah. It wasn't even ticklish (tickling someone through water doesn't work, it just feels like you're getting poked a lot), but it frightened the hell out of me. Getting seawater up your nose is not fun. Damn, I hate being small and an easy target. Totally unfair. I should learn kickboxing and beat the shit out of people. Kickboxing is awesome, I so want to learn it. Anyway, after we cooled down a bit we headed back to the car 'cause I needed to get home for my brother's birthday lunch. The guys drove me home, and I got back sometime after 11 a.m. I think they were going to Anton's place after that.

I had a quick shower and got dressed in a skirt and something girly... I dunno, a random top that suited the skirt and put on a necklace and wore some low-heeled silvery sandals. Then mum, dad and I went to Pac Fair to pick out some birthday cards for my brother. His birthday is today (Monday). My brother was at The Southport School having Mandarin lessons. After we picked out some cool cards, we went to picked him up. I LOVE card shopping. Well, it's not much fun on the Gold Coast because there is so little variety, but David Jones in Sydney has the biggest selection of cards ever. Sometimes I buy cards that I really like, and just keep them for myself :) So we had lunch in Surfer's at Mikado the Japanese restaurant in The Clock Tower. The food was delish as always. Chris messaged me and said he was at his mum's and that we were meeting there. Afterwards we walked around Chevron Renaissance for awhile then drove over to Pac Fair again to drop my mum off, 'cause the olds needed to buy some gifts for some family friends. Dad dropped my brother and I home and then went back to Pac Fair to join my mum.

I changed into something less dressy and remembered to take my camera this time, lol. I took the Nissan and called Chris to see if he was still at his mum's place in Southport. He was. Jamez was already there when I got there. I rung the doorbell and Chris came to the side gate but he forgot to get the key, so he went back in to get it. Jamez came out and said I should climb the fence. Meanwhile Chris had opened the garage door and come around the side to scare me. It was so weird, because I didn't even hear the garage door opening, and I was standing like a metre from it on the other side of the short dividing wall. I think I was concentrating too hard on talking to James and devising a way to climb over the fence. I seriously still have that single-tracked thing going on. Remember at school how I would never hear anybody calling my name if I was talking to somebody else? This usually happened around the back of the Great Hall where there's that long walkway, on the way to house group . I'd be talking to Tara or something, and Ci or Jasper would be about 30 metres behind us yelling my name for like 2 minutes and I just wouldn't hear them. Because I would be too involved in the conversation I'm having. Yeah, I still do that. I can't hear anything when I'm talking, and I can't listen to two conversations at the same time. I remember Jaspie and Ci would pay me out about it all the time :P Anyway... just a tangent.

Chris, Jamez and I hung out at Chris' mum's for awhile, and watched a bit of Robot Chicken on Jamez's iPhone. There is a lot of animated vomiting in the cartoon, lol. Jamez is obsessed with it and watches it during breaks at work (he works part-time at an accounting firm). I like telling him how sad his life is. After about 20 minutes, we left to go bowling. We took Chris' car, which has some awesome bells and whistles in it. He has the bluetooth phone system thing built into the car, which means he can dial people through the car and the sound comes out of the speakers. The air-conditioning vents for the backseat are situated on the sides of the car (on the vertical bar between the front door and back door), which is INGENIOUS, because you actually get some air then. We parked on a side street just past the bridge that goes from Chevron Island to Surfers where the guys always park, and walked to the bowling place near Timezone. It was so hot!

Bowling was so much fun, haha... we sucked really bad. Ok, Jamez and I sucked really bad in the first game. Chris broke 100, easy. I got like 4 gutter balls in a row or something, it was ridiculous. I blame it on heat exhaustion :P Nah, but then I bowled a Strike and some Spares and wasn't too far behind Jamez at the end of the first game. They dared me to use the kiddy-slide-y thing (not the bumpers), there's this metal slide thing that you can put your bowling ball on, let it go and it slides down and into the bowling alley. Needless to say, it didn't help me at all. It rolled about a metre and then decided it would prefer to live out the rest of its life in the gutter. Bitch! Chris got a phone call in the middle of the game and disappeared for a bit, and I thought it was my turn, so I bowled, and then we realised it was Chris' turn. So Jamez and I were like: fuck fuck fuck what are we going to do? and cracked ourselves laughing. I bowled out 8 pins for Chris so it wasn't even a bad bowl. James said we should quickly bowl the second one for him and move on to the next round and pretend nothing happened, haha. So James bowled the second one for Chris and it was a retarded gutterball. I swear he was just aiming for the gutter (it was THAT bad), but he swore he did it by accident. Sabotage, much? After Chris got back he was like: I was going to tell you guys to bowl for me and James and I looked at each other and cracked up and told Chris we already did... by accident. Chris ended up winning both games, but I came second in the second game :P

After bowling we went to get Boost juices because they rock. Then we went to the beach and sat in the shade. The skyscrapers in Surfer's really do cover a lot of beach in shadow in the afternoon. I don't know if that's necessarily such a bad thing. Means you can go to the beach without getting sunburnt and still get some UV/Vitamin D at the same time. I dunno. We must have been sitting on the beach for a good hour... it was so lovely. Chris told us some juicy details from his life. Skanky guy stuff :P I am so impressed with Chris' career as a pilot. I mean he's younger than me by a couple of months and he's already earning a solid $70,000+ per annum. He gets paid whether he is working or not and he gets to fly everywhere really cheap. For instance, his dad, stepmum, half-sister and sister have moved to Bali for 8 months to chillax and so his dad can set up this internet company thing. They've rented out their 3-storey beach mansion in Mermaid Beach for the duration of that period, and Chris has gone to live with his mum in Southport. He's flying over to Bali for a week in April to visit them and then he's going to Europe in September (and it will only cost him $500, but I forgot to ask if that was just one way or return... it's probably one way, but that is still ridiculously cheap), and then he'll be going to Bali again in November. OMFG! *Jumps and screams and yells and curses* I'm not even jealous. I'm just so fucking impressed and I wish I had a career like that. Day-um. James and I said we were both going to marry him/be his de facto partner, so we could get cheap flights. James is mistress #1 (he has to do all the dirty stuff) and I am mistress #2 (I get the easy life, I just have to sit there and look nice). Hehe. Seriously though, wow. I mean Chris' dad is fucking rich, they have the coolest house ever, and now Chris has this awesome job and he's able to fly everywhere at the fraction of the price the rest of the public has to pay. Way to go! James is doing pretty well too, he has this accounting job and he'll be finished with uni halfway through this year, and he seems to know where he wants to head in life. And here I am being like: yeah college is awesome, I love my friends, uni is great and Sydney rocks. Haha... oh, bugger. Both those guys are going to be in Sydney during my O-Week. I'm flying down on the 22nd. I think James is going down with his workmates for some sort of training... on the 22nd too. And Chris will be down for a couple of days later in the week. So we're probably going to meet up on Thursday night of O-Week and go out or something.

We buried our Boost juice cups in the sand and made these awesomely cool sinkholes. Well, I did. And they both said: small things amuse small minds, which came up another 10 times during the night. I lost track of time, but sometime after 6 p.m. we left the beach and walked back to the car. Don't worry, we took the juice cups with us and put them in the bin :P We decided we would pick some dinner up on the way to Jane's house. Oh... I forgot to mention that Jane Pilkington has weekly Sunday gatherings at her place in Runaway Bay. James couldn't get into the passenger seat because the door kept hitting the curb (I don't know how he got out in the first place), so he sat in the back seat with me and we commanded Chris to take us places as our personal chauffeur. He needed to get some petrol, so James and I sat in the car and chatted for a bit. Somehow the topic of Brock came up. I think he asked me about it. James reckons I can't be sure I am over him until I see him again. He reckons the fact that Brock is away in Canada gives me the false impression that I am over him. What?! That's retarded. I hope he is wrong. I am in control of myself, but if he's right and it is harder to keep my feelings under control when I get back to college, I will just have to try harder because I am not putting myself through all the insanity again. Fuck that! James knows about other stuff, because he picked me up from the train station that morning when I got home. Anyway... it ended up with me saying that I hope Brock would hook up, so I could be happy for him and tease him and probe for information like a friend would. Chris had jumped back into the car then and he was all like: Aw, that's so sweet of you to wish him luck in hooking up. Lol. I hope I get to see James again before I leave 'cause I didn't really get to discuss anything with him yesterday.

We stopped on this street of restaurants/fast food outlets on the way to Runaway Bay, and went to this pizzaria that Chris always goes to. Pizza is awesome. They make the pizza's then and there when you order it. Chris and I went half-sies on a pizza and James got one for himself. Andrew (from college) kept messaging me. He was at Mariel's house tutoring her and she was driving him insane and he needed some comforting. We sat in the pizzaria and chatted about weird stuff. Weird sexual terms that Chris had learnt somewhere and was trying to taint our minds with. 'Docking' is when one guy puts his foreskin over another guy's penis. What... the... hell...? That's so fucking funny. Thanks to my lovely, sick-minded friends at college I knew some terms that neither Chris nor James knew, and had to tell them... and they freaked out too. Some people have strange fetishes I will never understand. I can accept them no probs, but understand? Never. The pizza took forever and it turns out they forgot to make our order. We kept seeing people who had come in after us get their pizza's and we're like: that's not right! So anyway... Chris and I got Green Tea nutrient water while we waited, which I've never had before, but have now come to love. James got a redbull *palmforehead* I swear he is the most unhealthy eater in the entire world. Sometime around 7:30 p.m., we finally got our pizza's and wolfed them down in an instant. They were orgasmically delicious. It was probably partly due to the fact that we were starving too, but the pizza's seriously were worth the wait.

After we finished nomming on the pizza's, we continued our journey to Jane's house. I jumped in the front seat this time and we sang the entire way there. Chris has this awesome compilation CD of songs that were popular about half a year ago... I don't even know what half of them are called, but I know the songs. Chris Shuker, Brenton and Brenton's mate Jarryd were already at Jane's when we got there. They'd been drinking (well, Jane, Brenton and Jarryd had). I haven't seen Shuker since high school! OMG. He is the bomb! He went and gave everybody hugs and wrapped one leg around our legs suggestively... haha. Ah, I miss him. Did I ever mention that Shuker's ex-girlfriend lived with me at Shalom for two years? She went to a school in Tweed, but she came over to Somerset for violin lessons. Her name is Laksmi and she's really cool. Anyway. It was so good to see those guys - I haven't seen Jane in about two years.

I can't begin to explain how hilarious the entire night was. We sat around Jane's round table and talked, told stories, jokes, made references to popular culture, listened to music, drank (I only had one drink), watched YouTube videos and made prank calls. Oh, yes. These kids are awesome. I was told some funny drinking stories... like when they played strip poker, and when Chris Frawley had to choose between skolling a glass of Rose or lick Brenton's manboobs, haha, and when Alicia got en eyeful of Chris' penis when somebody dacked him. LOL. There were heaps of other ones, but I can't recall them all. And Shuker is such a laugh; he is so fabulously witty. Well he was always like that, but I forgot. What a great guy. During the night he randomly remembered how we used to have huge arguments about AFL. Haha... oh the good days. He, Brenton and I would spend every Monday paying each other out depending on how Essendon or the Lions went. AND there was that tipping competition that I ran in grade 11 and 12 :) Aw, man. Good good times. We listened to the song "Underwear Goes Inside The Pants" by Lazyboy, because Shuker hadn't heard it before and then we watched "I jizzed in my pants". Have you guys seen that? It's so funny. I hadn't heard of it until Mitch (Chris Wright's best friend) showed me that weekend I was in Brisbane with them. I can't believe I missed that. It wasn't really an internet meme though. Here's the link for good measure. Then we listened to Christian Bale's outburst on the set of Terminator. Lol... he's kind of insane. But I still have a celebrity crush on him :D

Shuker had to leave earlier 'cause he had work the next day. Brenton walked him out, but he didn't come back for ages, so we all snuck out down the stairs, through the garden and tried to spy on them. They were on the street sitting on Shuker's car having a deep and meaningful. Jarryd tried to climb the fence and failed and we were all peeking through the gate, but we couldn't see them. So we opened the gate and Jane and Chris Frawley poked their head around the corner and looked down the street in the complete opposite direction to where Shuker and Brenton were... lol. And then I popped around the corner and saw Shuker waving at us. It was so retarded, lol. We crashed their D&M and Jane and I crash tackled Brenton and sat on him. Then we fell off and Chris Frawley sat on Brenton and I sat in Chris Frawley's lap and Jane sat on my lap and we squashed Brenton into the grass. Then we stood around and chatted, and Brenton, Frawley and Shuker  felt each other up on the bonnet of Shuker's car (see photos below)... ah, this is going to sound so sad, but I felt like such a cool teenager standing in the middle of the street in the middle of the night, talking and being rowdy. We weren't even doing anything bad, probably made more noise than we should have (well, you know me, I can't keep my fucking mouth shut or voice down)... but I never ever really do this kind of stuff up here. In Sydney I do, but not at home. It felt cool :) Eventually, Shuker had to go home and we all headed back inside.

We relived some more old moments from high school and talked about people's lovers and ex-lovers. The year after school, Brenton went out with this girl called Jess and Gareth went out with her best friend, Tara. And Brenton even sent me pictures of them (both couples) and he forgot. I told him all this stuff that he forgot he told me, lol. Then Jane said she hadn't gotten any in awhile, and all the guys paid her out and made jokes :P Then everybody started talking about who had hooked up with who and whatever and Brenton remembered stuff about Gareth and I, and made this story up about us hooking up just to wind me up. He knew all we did was hold hands and hugged. Damn I can't believe that story is still following me around after so many years. Jane mentioned that she remembered I told her (during English class) that Gareth gave the best hugs in the world. I vaguely remember saying that. She said she distinctively remembered me telling her that because it was such a weird comment (because Gareth didn't seem like the hugging type) and then she tested it out and agreed he did give awesome hugs. Jane thought I was still with Brock, but I told her no. Then she asked if James Thorburn and I were going out, and he and I looked each other and cracked up so bad. I was like: Ew, gross! because Jamez's is totally my bro. It's funny because that's not the first time we've been asked that. I guess it's because we are such close friends we look really comfortable around each other or something. I dunno? Why would anybody think we were going out? Brenton thought it would be fun to join in the fun and was like: You -so- are going out, blah blah blah. Retard :P

Then somebody came up with the idea that we should call Nick Pasque. Somebody relived the story of how Nick lost his virginity to some random St. Hilda's girl, and how they didn't use protection and Nick tried to get the morning after pill for her because she wouldn't get it herself, but the pharmacist denied him. I don't know what happened after, but anyway... Jarryd called Nick from his iPhone and we kept getting sent to voicemail. So the guys left all these hilarious, sick messages for him. We must have left about 5 messages in total. In one of them, Chris Frawley made orgasm sounds for like  an entire minute... it was so wrong! Then we called up again and both Frawley and Brenton made orgasm/sex noises at the same time. I was disturbed. About half an hour later, we called Nick from Chris Frawley's phone and he actually picked up but he was mad as. He was like: "Fuck off, I'm trying to sleep. I have to work in a couple of hours" and hung up. And then the guys felt kind of bad. Nick's a pilot too. In fact, he lives like two streets away from me. Ohhhh, it was funny-bad though - in a good way. Andrew messaged me again. He was like: "Is my kasen still awake?" this was at about 10:30 p.m. AND OMG he spelt my name right for the first time ever. He always spells it "Kasan", but I don't care... I mean that's the way most people pronounce it anyway, so it's not a big deal. He was bored because Mariel had gone to bed and he was like 'some host she is!' and apparently she had been cold towards him because she didn't want to give him the wrong idea or something. I dunno. I wasn't really in the mood for advice-giving then, I was having too much fun and to be honest, I have given him all the advice I can give. It's up to him to detach himself from the situation.

I can't repeat the entire night because it would take forever to write, and I can't remember everything anyway. I know we made some plans for later in the week. Chris and Jane like dancing and they occasionally go out on Thursday nights to Surfer's to go clubbing. Brenton hates dancing, so he never goes and just meets everybody back at Jane's. Anyway... not sure if I'll be able to go out with them, but I'll see. I haven't been drunk with these kids before, it could be fun. But I also think I should cut down on my drinking. It's not even a lot, but I kept getting called an alcoholic (as a joke, I know) but I have been drinking a lot compared to my non-drinking days :P Actually it hasn't even been a year since I first took a sip of alcohol. Weird. Feels like forever now. By the way, I never noticed how everybody on the Gold Coast knows everybody else. It's awesome. I know a whole lot of girls from St. Hilda's because I used to be friends with some of them and then I met their friends and so on. And Jane used to go to St. Hilda's before she came to Somerset, so she knows the people that I know. And now Brenton and Chris and those guys know a whole of the same girls that I know from St. Hilda's because they met them through Jane or whatever. It's so cool.

Brenton was drinking goon and he spilled a glass all over the table and onto the floor and on himself and some on the chair, haha. We had to get towels and clean it up quickly so it wouldn't stain. Brenton had to change his pants but I wasn't fast enough with the camera to catch him in his undies. Then he proceeded to wash his pants in the kitchen sink... he was prodding it with a spatula. It was so ridiculously funny, haha, oh you had to be there. It looked so dumb. I'm actually cracking up now just writing this and remembering the scene.

We left at 11:40 p.m. cause my mum called me and James had work the next day and Chris had work too, I think, and he needed to hit the gym in the morning. So we said bye, and hugs all around, and Chris drove us back to his mum's place, where our cars were parked. We drove past these people lying in the gutter and weren't sure whether we should stop and see if they were ok, but there wasn't a u-turn for ages so we just kept driving in the end. I hope they were okay. I got back home sometime past midnight. The drive back was fine, my one drink had wore off. The rear and front windscreens had frosted up though, it was annoying. I couldn't see through the rear one properly, but headlights are all you really need to see, I guess.

Just now Andrew messaged me again telling me he is bored. Wow. I think I'll just leave this one. What am I even supposed to say to that?

Today's my brother's 15th birthday! Yay! Can't wait to eat cake. I should write my card soon. I'm having a quiet one today. Parents are in Brisbane meeting up with our solicitor/accountant/tax-person. I'm sitting in air-con, writing :) It's almost 40 degrees outside, I swear. I think I might drive over to the library later. I have to return a book and pick up another one that I put on hold and has arrived. Also, must watch The West Wing. Ok, my arm is about to die, and I think if I try to write any more, sentences are going to become incoherent babbling...

SUNDAY SESH!

Beachin' it in Surfer's.
