They just don't sound like themselves.

It looks like the commander is nearby with a bunch of space ships, and all the old passengers on them. But he can't get here because it's really dangerous. So we have to stop the captain somehow. [...really wishes he could give this explanation properly, but that's surprisingly difficult at the moment]

A lot the same. Everybody sounds normal sometimes, but not all the time. It makes talking with them really confusing.
