Plot | Level 23

[heresthebasics]

[Isshin is walking around Level 23. He wants the Sphere to turn off, but it dances around his hands. After a few seconds he stops chasing after it and reverts back to a stoic hands-in-pockets appearance, trying to look like he's doing absolutely nothing at all. There is a small sword by his waist.]...There's a saying about waiting for women. It's

A very good thing.

[Apparently she was listening to the sphere following her around.]

[Deadpan] I was just there.

[heresthebasics]

Me too. Nice place. You find anything?

[savetheliving]

Nothing yet.

[She turns and walks through the door, taking out the seeleschneider.]

[heresthebasics]

[Isshin walks with a slow pace behind her. Inside he takes a glance at the incoming hall. There's no one else around. He appears releaved.] What do you think? Everyone's hoping Orion's going to swoop down and save all our behinds.

[savetheliving]

[They pass a door with an "X" drawn next to it.]

We'll see.

[heresthebasics]

[The sphere hovers behind Isshin's head. Isshin looks back, becoming annoyed. He reaches for the machine but it twists the other way and escapes his reach. Again he gives up.] Any idea why these things won't let me switch them off? It's starting to piss me off.

[He notices the X on the door, going to touch the frame with the back of his hands. He feels the door and then crosses his arms]

Should we check it out?

[savetheliving]

[She looked at him as if to say "maybe you're just incompetent."]

I haven't had any problems with mine. [To prove her point, her hand snapped out and grabbed her sphere before it could get away.]

That one's already been checked. [She stops walking and looks back nonetheless.]

[heresthebasics]

[Nods. He points to the end of the hall] The one down there doesn't have a mark on it.

[savetheliving]

[she nods and walks towards the door.] Do you have all the codes memorized?

[heresthebasics]

[He approaches the door from the side] For sure. I had to be doing something all week.

[Isshin steps in front of the keypad. He types in the codes one at time. Each time he gets the usual 'password is denied' noise. He looks at Ryuuko vaguely disappointed] Well, it ain't this one.

[savetheliving]

Hmm. [She uses the seeleschneider to scratch a small X into the metal next to the keypad.]

Carry on.

[Ryuuko stops and turns her head to the side. Something moved in the shadows.]

[heresthebasics]

[Isshin notices the shadow coming in from behind. He unsheaths his sword slashing across its neck. It falls to the floor.] What the hell?

[Smirks] Ryuuko, you'd better pay more attention. I alwasy thought glasses weaken the eye-sight. [A monster crawls up behind him as he waits for Ryuuko to react, his sword casually held at his waist.]

[savetheliving]

[She strides past Isshin and cuts the monster's head clean in half. She then continues walking, ignoring his comment.]

[she looks thoughtful for a moment.]

Is there a reason you're not using the "helmet-and-spandex" powers everyone's been given?

[heresthebasics]

[Isshin's face is white momentarily. He recovers by the time Ryuuko asks her question trying to shoo his embaressment away. He is holding his sword more vigilantly now.]

I was wathcing the spheres. From what I understand those suits drive you nuts. [He works himself up into a rage, beaming with his fist.] Besides! What kind of man wears spandex?!

[She pushes up her glasses, but says nothing.]

It fortunate these creatures aren't other passengers cloaked with holograms, as they were before.
