About a month ago, I
posted about planning to set up a treadmill desk. It's now done and in use, and, as expected, I like it quite a bit. Also, my gerbil icon is now literally as well as metaphorically accurate.
A few photos (click the photos to see slightly larger versions):
The treadmill desk setup takes up a good deal of the guest room, but that's fine. The treadmill can't fold while the keyboard shelf is on it, but I can just lift off the shelf and stash it in the closet (or the corner next to the treadmill) and then the deck folds up just fine.
Wall-mounted monitor; keyboard shelf with keyboard and trackball.
A closer view of the workspace.
The original plan was to put the monitor on a shelf, but after some searching I found a wall mount with a swing arm long enough to accomodate installation on the knee wall.
The keyboard shelf is a hack job; I want to redo it at some point now that I've figured out what not to do. The current one works well enough that I'm not in a rush, though.
This is pretty much my view when working. Well, except that the monitor looks much less soothing when I'm actually working.
I should probably be spending less time modding the house and tending the garden and more time getting work done. Ah well.
