I just got a lovely little package in the mail: 256Mb of RAM for my computer, which has been struggling along at 128Mb (the absolute mimimum with which one is supposed to attempt to use Premiere). I installed it, apparently successfully, but was foiled by the computer's complete failure to boot up when I turned it back on. Turned it off again, pulled the new module (I love RAM -- it's like big sticks of chewing gum, except for the whole metal-and-plastic thing), restarted, and everything's copacetic.
Bother. Now I have to wait for the Minister of Hardware to come home. He'll probably be able to make it behave just by looking at it. Software I can wrangle. Actual physical parts aren't so much my bag. I'm more or less at peace with this, but it does make me feel more like A Girl than I generally like to feel.
In the meantime, however, my corn chowder has finished cooking, so at least I have a lovely lunch with which to console myself.
