...and I don't feel any different.
redredshoes and
pipsqueaky both asked for commentary on "Come On"; pips wanted to hear specifically about the process of coming up with the narrative structure. I almost posted the poem about soup, just because it's extremely funny, but I'm not sure I'd be able to stop myself from editorializing on the recipe in question. A while back,
truepenny and Mirrorthaw and I were talking about books over dinner (...yeah, there's a surprise) and Mirrorthaw brought up the notion of one's own Ten Most Important Books. I am feeling really, really good about vidding right now, partly because I'm feeling good about life for reasons that I'll cover in a separate post, but also because:
renenet (finally) sent me beta comments on the Donnie Darko vid draft. For about fifteen minutes just now I contemplated attempting to write up a comprehensive report of my WisCon activities. I'm getting ready to archive the Donnie Darko vid: save all the exports and original files to disk and take them off my computer. My Premieres vid for VividCon is uploading even as I type. Yesterday was the first day of school around here. I'm going on the academic job market this year, and it's stressful. Those of you who've been following the monday poems for a while now may remember that I am a sucker for poems that spin classical myths in interesting ways. ...rumors to the contrary notwithstanding.
Conclusions: I vidded and talked about vidding, I read poetry, I thought about soup recipes, I thought about books, I went to WisCon and VividCon, I went to school, I went on the job market. Also, I am fond of ellipses.
Yeah, that pretty much sums up my year.
